Anyone else have dogs properly throwing themselves as you ride past on the bike?

In the past week I must have had a good three or four that have been on the lead on a path and as I've ridden past have turned mental and tried to rip their owners arm off to get at the bike. I assume to chase me down and hump it, or chew the tyres.

Most weird. Confused

My mums dog is one of those! Any motorbike goes past, especially when he's in the car, he starts whining and wanting to follow..... maybe he was a biker in a previous life.. Thinking

if I see someone walking a dog I tend to move towards the middle of the road if they are on our side of the road just in case they are them suicidal ones.

Owner not paying attention, dog suddenly lunges.. even if it's a small dog it can catch them off guard and have them falling flat on their face, possibly on the road.

The Garage i just used has 2 dogs which seem to try and leap in front of you as you pull up if they're out.

Quite a few express interest, several seem to want to chase me.

Of the regulars - two horrible foxy, barky things from across the road turn nasty and a big golden retriever bounds around like a tard everytime I ride past. I also dip my clutch and coast past a little black westie thing as it looks terrified.

Had one almost got me the other week. Foot was ready to swing for the bastard. Had I connected then I would have kicked the shit out of the owner for not training their animal correctly.

Urgh! There was one woman near White Hart roundabout, used to have 2 dogs on extending leads, saw them every morning about 6:30am, and every morning they would run into the road and try to catch me on my bicycle. Nearly got me a couple of times. I will admit to not being my best at 6:30am in the morning. They once caught a guy on a bike behind me who promptly hit the deck and had his bike squished by a car. The woman shouted at the cyclist, who was on the road, for running over her dog. Idiot woman. Neutral

Never had a kid run at my bike, but have had a mum encourage her son to sit on my bike outside a Sainsburys. Upon enquiring 'What the fuck are you doing?' she replied 'Well your bikes the smallest here and he wanted to sit on one'. Right. Well that was me told. Neutral

Cats are the worst. Sit on the road and watch you with a smug Jack Dee type look on their face knowing full well you will move for them.

Yep! Happened to me on monday. Women kept her dog on a long leash and it ran into the path of my bike (single country lane). She then had the cheek to stare at me shaking her head. Bastard dog owners.

The dogs from a local farm here used to run along next to cars and bite the tyres. I wouldn't fancy them doing that to me on my bike.

I had one run out of a farm house on a pitch country road at night doing about 50mph, I VERY nearly hit it, it ran into the road then back into the farm and shit me right up

I'd feel horrible if I killed a doggy Thumbs Down

I've never had problems with cats oddly enough. An occasional dog sure, a metric fuckton of squirrels (took one out once too) and a badger or two, but never cats.

Odd Thinking

I understand why dogs do it - however it is bloody annoying and owners need to train it out of them sharpish.

on my recent trip to Scotland I had a killer Grouse attack the car.
Driving through the Cairngorms with the Mrs taking in the scenery and from out of nowhere, we hear this screeching. The Mrs looks out of the window to see this Grouse running out of the heather straight at the car. I stop the car 20 feet away to snap the fierce little critter.

He was actually squaring up to me! Amused us for a while
