My cousin has a Suzuki GX125 and his chain is very rusty.

Is it petrol or diesel that he should soak the chain in overnight?

P.S. - We are looking for a cheap man's fix.[/list]

Hi

If either then diesel.

Personally I would try a toothbrush and some old engine oil (used is fine). Possibly tie a piece of string around one end of the chain then put the whole chain in the bottle of oil and let it soak in for a good few hours (string is so you tie that to something out of the oil to get the chain back out).

All the best

If the chain is gubbed then your friend would be wise to change it before it snaps at speed and destroys his engine/leg or him altogether if he comes off.

Agreed, if its bad it will snap, I think I only paid about £15 for a new chain for my cg.
