I'm thinking of buying these. Anyone tried them? I don't motor cross, I just green lane. At the moment just wearing old army boots.

I bought a pair a while back, in the hope that they'd bear some resemblance to those Sidi Courier boots. They don't however; they're far too stiff for me to make any serious use of, since I don't do any off-road stuff (at least, not on the bikes that I currently own). They're size 12, if they're of any interest to you?

I would jump on that offer if I were you. I LOVE mine, I just bought a set because I was in the same position as you, first MX boots and all that, I can actually walk around in them in the mud too! Very Happy
Just strange getting used to the controls on your bike again, I had to move my gear changer up a notch so I could get the boot under,
Also I am normally a size 11 but had to go for a 13 so may want to consider that?
I paid £80 for mine cos it was the january sales and the shop I went ot has sold me many brake light and number plate from being enthusiastic with the throttle combined with poor clutch control, so they know me quite well.

Um, actually, I'm not so sure I'd jump on the offer just yet. I may well have been a bit inebriated when I posted that; they look like the Wulf ones, they're actually O'Neal. No malice was intended; this is just why I tend not to post when wasted - I have a habit of missing important details.

This is quite a catastrophic moment of derp for me. Sorry. Embarassed

No harm done, still the wulfs are pretty good regardless of whether you have them or not Smile

Last time I bought some boots for the muddy stuff I also looked at the O'Neal boots, you could get them for about £80 online. Just bare in mind that these are at the very budget end of of road boots. In the end I went for some Fox Comp 5's. Paid £135 at my local MX shop.

they are not bad for what they are breaking them in now

minus points for sole tread, and the trouble I had kick starting my Honda, boots just kept sliding off. Sure, I didn't hurt myself, no brusies from the kick start scraping my leg, but I couldn't kick it either.

Ended up wrapping electric tape the wrong way round, sticky side up over the end of the kick lever. Then it started first time.

Well I can't send them back now, I just went greenlaning briefly Laughing

Starting the bike is a sod, I'll get the hang of it. Once I'm on the bike and riding it, they feel lush. Finding neutral at traffic lights is harder than ever.

More confidence riding through deep slidey mud though. Thumbs Up

Thats what I noticed with them, once the are broken in they are alright. I couldn't get the bike to kick over to begin with either and the back brake gets stamped on cos I can't really feel what I'm doing, also they are quite long and rub the back of my thighs when sat down, but it's a 50 so the bike is far too small anyway. I really like them because I feel more confident so ride better I think.

I tried a similar pair on when looking for boots with bigger calf room. Felt like my leg was in a cast! Does it stop feeling like that eventually?!

well I think that you get used to it mostly, partly they give a bit, and you can adjust the straps slightly, at off road school they explained at some length the importance of proper boots

On my BMW today, I took off the rubber mounts from the foot pegs and the gear change lever, as I was having trouble changing gear, will probably notice the vibrations tonight when I go out, as I will have my regular boots on.
