MOT Fail

Hi, My bike failed its MOT today (CBF 250) due to dodgy steering bearings.

Been quoted 180 inc VAT to have them replaced, having not enough knowledge about these sorts of repairs I thought I'd gather your opinions on whether this is a competitive quote? If I get the work done with them that includes the ReTest.

(Not sure if this is the right section to post it in, but hey)

should cost about £20 for parts, and about an hour or so labour, so that is really excessive IMO.

£65ish sounds about right I reckon. Get more quotes mate.

Think you're looking at a bit more for the bearings- £35 from Wemoto, reckon it could be topside of an hour but it's still a way expensive quote, they usually retest free within the time limit so that's a bit of a red herring. DIY and save yourself £80 it's not a hard job.
