600cc to 1000cc?? Moving up on commuting. Advice needed

Hello people.

I've been with a Suzuki Bandit GSF600S for the past 2 years and I feel its time now to move up a little.

I mainly commute 20 miles round trip daily in London but enjoy a get away ride outs on weekends and I'm going to wales in March.

My concern is that a 1000cc bike might be a lot higher on fuel consumption.

My top bikes are...

Suzuki DL V-Strom 650 - 1000
Honda Veradero 1000
Honda transalp 650 - 700
Honda deauville or NT 650-700

Its gotta be a tall touring bike.

Any advice welcome

I get about 47mpg average on my Varadero, but that's mostly motorway/fast A road work 80s/90s/100. If I hit town it plummets dramatically.

It does however have front tyres that seem to never wear out, same for the front brake pads and chain/sprockets.
