I'm not sure if this is possible, but does anyone know any insurance companies that will consider my 5 years ncb on my car for a bike?

Had a quick search on here, but I suck at searching!

On a side note...I hate insurance!

I know people who've had bikes for years, then gone across to having a car and the insurance company wouldn't take bike NCB into consideration so I presume it to be the other way round.

I have tried using my car NCB and i am afraid insurance companies will not accept them for a bike policy. I actually set up bike insurance using my car NCB and thought nothing of it, but when i sent off my proof of no claims, they phoned me up and said i cant use them Evil or Very Mad I had to cancel my policy and insure my bike through someone else...

What was even worse was that i couldn't change my 125 policy to a 600 when i passed my full test and got a bigger bike Rolling Eyes Had to start my no claims again which was a right pain in the arse Sad

I'm sure when I was using the bike insurer website, it had a option to enter in Car NCB.
Also when I changed my bike after passing my test, they verified my Car NCB was still current when updating the records Neutral

So the option is out there Thumbs Up

The site i has used did ask if i had car NCB but it isn't counted as an actual no claims bonus, you would still have to start a bike no claims from scratch. Although i think by saying you have car no claims you do get some discount as you have road experience etc...

Thanks everyone Smile.

Found a few places that ask for how many no claims I have for my car, but no idea if it makes a difference.

My quotes would be around £400 if I could Sad.

Hello

Google six wheel insurance - Carole Nash do it. I have 5 years bike NCD but zero on my car. Too many years of not having a car invalidated the 10+ years of NCD I had accrued.

Carole Nash would take my 5 years bike NCD and use it on my car aswell. I would think they must do it the other way too.

Regards
