Guys I am in the middle of sorting a mates zzr400 ,
the rectifier wiring had been bodged up and melted along with the generator having a short, we have all the bits now but does it matter which way round the yellow 1,2,3 wires go as I can not see any markings on them or the generator plug (we don't have the rectifier plug it was already chopped off)
I know they go to pins 4,5,6 on the rectifier as per the haynes but have no way of knowing which is yellow 1 etc

generator plug is I I
_
but no markings on it at all.. Karma

No mater what way. They should all be about the same voltage or should be the same if new.

fanks dude, problem no 2 now tho.
got it all wired up and working BUT... the voltage is 13.20 @ 4000rpm with the headlight on and 13.80 with the brake light and headlight on Neutral the brake light seems to increase the voltage when activated lol.
seems to be charging anyway

Same with my ZZR6, seemed to give higher charge voltage at tick-over than when running. Mine was fine, if anything it was kinder to bulbs and battery.
