I don't commute on the bike at the moment due to space issues at my new place.

That said I work in a place, where I could be working or just visiting.

SDPC for me. They wriggle out of claims at the best of times so I'm not giving them a bonafide reason to. Otherwise I'd just insure TP only and "self insure" against theft or bike-bowling.

Shop around.

SDPC for me - can't believe it adds £800 for the OP! Shocked
Got to add business to mine in the next couple of weeks, can't wait for the admin fees on that one Thumbs Down Although, new work really should pay for that thinking about it...

If not, grab yourself an accountant. I am sure it could be tax deductible?!

To be honest, I doubt it'd cost me enough to make it worthwhile. I can claim mileage back from work so I don't think they'll baulk at paying my insurance extra.

I add commuting because it costs me so little that it's literally not worth my time trying to game the system.

If it was a significant cost though, I'd likely "forget" to add it. In the vanishingly unlikely event that it becomes an issue, it would be perfectly truthful to say that I was on a pleasure ride, because riding is always a pleasure.

It only added like £50 to my policy on the GSXR when I was trying out quotes. I was quite surprised.
