My mate has a Suzuki GZ Marauder. Nice bike, very comfy, reliable, cheap to run and buy, sounds quite beefy for a 125, 4 stroke so easily maintained, tops out at about 65Mph and thats restricted. Bad points - crap acceleration, no fairings, parts can be expensive as not many people have one.

There's a guy in my class at college who has a honda rebel 125cc and he thinks it's a beast, he reckons he got 90mph out of it on a dual carriage way. He looks funny on it because he's about 6'4 and the bike is tiny. He said he raced a vfr400 aswell and he was keeping up with it .
But the shadows are guttless bikes and feel sluggish, if you're not worried about speed go for it as you will get bored quick if your into that kind of thing but you might aswell go for something like a cg. ____________________

Clemster where are these references to the bike being restricted? All I can find is articles about it producing 12bhp including from suzukis own site....
Dafrostyone As carvell said the limit is 14.75bhp and I don't know of any 4 stroke 125 that makes over 15bhp, let alone 20.
They don't go over 14.75bhp because the manufacturer designed them not to go over that limit so they won't have to bother putting a restrictor in, thus saving them money and allowing people to do their CBT and just buy a bike knowing there's no legal requirement hassles to worry about.
At least I'm pretty sure that's how it is, unless the manufacturer is unwittingly doing themselves up the arse. |

Don't worry about it clemsta
I think they started to produce de-tuned 125 4 strokes when the learner limit was bought in to comply with it. So the older ones before that probably were past that limit, especially imported from countries without said restrictions. |

Parts are VERY expensive, especially when your a student. It cost me £80 for a new front fender, £19 for a bar end and around £100 for a fork tube. |
