Hi all.
A friend of my step-father is selling his Royal Enfield Clubman 500s. I have ridden and fallen in love with the bike. Being 15 I cant ride it, but I was wondering if it could be restricted for a 17 yr old to ride.
Being built using old kit etc (Not a scrap of plastic to be seen)would the restrictor damage it at all if I run it with one? Also, if anyone knows a website for a club or something like that, it would be wonderful.
Thanks (In hopeful anticipation)
Pete

Erm, I don't think a Clubman 500 Produces more than 30BHP so aslong as the 17yo has passed there A2 Restricted bike licence then it shouldnt be a problem.

Dont forget power to weight ratio. Very Happy No idea what it weighs though.

No idea of clubs for that model, but some members of the Thumper Club on enfields. ( cant renember the address though ).

The modern enfields produce something like 22-25BHP so it would be completley legal for a 17yo with an A2 licence, plus like anyone bothers with power to weight ratios Very Happy

Thanks. Parents shot the idea in the foot though. I'm going to have to wait till i'm 18 before I can get any kind of bike. Ill have to look around again at that time. Dead useful things parents. Just as you get interested, get a plan, get ideas, they always, without fail find someway to stop you.
Moan over (wrong forum I know.)
