Hi guys.

I have unfortunately lost the key to my ZX9R. I have got a spare alarm/immobiliser fob so I can sort that side of things. My question is going to be relatively vague for obvious reasons.

I can read wiring diagrams and I have done something with my CG in the past when I had lost the key. My question is whether its just a slightly more complicated version of the CG or whether the ignition switch is a bit more complicated than it initially seems?

Basically am I going to do any damage to my bike making the connections that I want to make.

PM me if you've been on here a while and can help me out.

Thanks guys.[/code]

Thanks guys. I've found out what I need to know. There is definately something more to it than the CG but I know what this is and how to go about it.

Thanks for the help. Thumbs Up

Does it have a resistor in the ignition to cut the voltage to the CDI to 9V?

Believe most Kwacks do, you need a 100ohm resistor plumbed in same as Suzuki ones.

Or maybe point out to you that if you bypass the ignition you will blow the CDI and that if you just pick up a resistor from Maplin it will last a few minutes at best.

But don't say thank you or anything.

I don't get what I have done to offend you sickpup but it wasn't intended. Maybe it was the laughing smiley? I meant that I found it amusing rather than laughing at anyone.

Sorry if there was any mixup but thank you. It shouldn't be something that is asked for but whenever I ask something on here I always thank you all for your help in the original post and give karma for my appreciation.

Thank you. Thumbs Up

You hadn't offended me.

I was serious about the resistor by the way.

Thanks Sickpup. Gladly my friend phoned me to tell me he had found my bike keys in his car. I've torn the house apart looking for them but they obviously fell out of my pocket. Laughing

Pretty lucky I hadn't started tearing up the ignition by that point. Cool
