Was wondering, I know there are car auctions around the country but I've never seen nor heard of bike auctions, do they exist and are they a good place to sell a bike?

Thinking the costs are probably similar or better than e-bay's fees or biketrader's costs.

BCA do separate bike auctions where they only run bikes through during that particular sale. There are private buyers there, but generally most buyers are traders.

Last time I went the prices were very high considering it was an auction, so there aren't always the bargains that there should be.

I'm looking to sell, so that would be in my favour.

That entirely depends on what you're selling.

I presume it is the same as car auctions, sold as seen. I would expect cheap prices from any auction, but the trouble if traders are involved they can sort any problems cheaply so the price rises that bit more.
