Took Striple and Met Arry at Rykas. Felt a bit tired of busy roads and police everywhere.

Went down A24 and cut across to Devils Dyke. Fantastic weather for it.

Sunday, couldn't shake the fog, so took Gixxer out down to New Forest at 4pm.
Took a longer route home, arriving at some favourite roads later and which were 80% empty.
Got followed for 20 miles by a McLaren 570 through the twisties.

Couple from yesterday.

Spectacular Church for a tiny village (Enford).
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49958886696_556fc67b74_b.jpg

Slept here a few times. As I've noticed with lots of the training estate it's run down, vandalised and stinks of piss. I'm guessing the last decade + of spending cuts were hidden this way.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49959169762_6ab4beb4e3_b.jpg

Cam decided to run away (I didn't notice).
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49958427913_efc0ab4be5_b.jpg

I got 45 minutes of this shot every 20 seconds, though every now and the there is one with more shadow as a car drives over it. Found the Cam, still working fine, even the case is only mildly scuffed.

Took the Honley RX3 out today.
Ipswich to Stowemarket and back via the scenic route.
I’m more used to sports styled bikes and being on a sit up wide bar bike was a bit interesting!
No issues, just a few wobbles here and there Smile .

Out on a bike twice in one week Shocked kin ell !

Tidworth - Glastonbury - Bridgwater - Weston - Bristol - Steeple Ashton.

Got really lost in Bristol and google took me on a tour of what looked like the shittest bits.

The speck in the background is Glastonbury Tor

Weston, I think the moody looking weather kept the crowds away.

I don't think I got any pictures that day. At least we didn't end up with soggy wet cold testicles again.

Found a decent route back up to the Dartford tunnel via Sevenoaks that I'll go back and do again at some point.

Stuck ~1000 miles on the Enfield since end of lockdown which makes this my most prolific biking couple of months in as long as I can remember, excluding the 'long hauls' I've tended to do on 4 day weekends away camping.

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49979856066_dc81e80d90_c.jpg

Most of these miles have been bike hunting to replace the KTM. Had the 'pleasure' of taking this thing out over the weekend:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49979858066_6be381cd2a_c.jpg

1200S with all the fancy bits. Ended up not liking it, which is a shame as I'd bought it in my head - I mean, just look at it Wub

But alas, not to be - I'll never work out why people are so keep to put up with snatchy, horrible fuelling down low; it just makes everything hard work, and it had a touch of the KTM about it where if you weren't just 'on it', it behaved like a bit of a pig. You couldn't just flick it about, you had to be shifting weight to the front otherwise it'd feel lethargic to turn, and as if the front tyre was just skidding out across the tarmac. Disappointed was an understatement.

Oh yeah, and I dragged Wifey out for a run on Enfield too - first time having a pillion since I had my back operation. Went fine, so I'm pleased with that.

Did you check tyre pressures?

I only say that as I had a test ride last year - and I had to tell the dealer something was up with the front end. He checked the front tyre pressures and it was at 9psi...

Started at 0345 headed to Weymouth, then followed the coast down to Sidmouth with lots of random stops along the way. Even went looking for Ammonites at Lyme Regis.

No I didn't fiddle with it at all - was sort of hoping that a £9k bike at a dealers would be set up proper for a prospective punter but you never know I guess Laughing

Off tomorrow to see an 821 and the same place have another 1200S so I think I'll try to take both of them back to back.

I wouldn't own one (looks don't do it for me on either) but I wonder if the 821 will be more fun as it's likely more thrashable.

Bloody hell, what did you do in Sidmouth to escape from? Rape and pillage an old people home?

It's like the opposite of upward mobility Laughing

I'm a Rhondda boy and even I wipe my feet after leaving Brigend.

Thanks, I wish I could say I was a natural but reality is all taken on my phone, for every final you see there I probably took 12 shots and really it's all in the edit.

It's the end result that counts. For all the famous paintings that Turner did that were exhibited and raved about, how many did he do that never saw the light of day, that he wasn't happy with?
Besides, photography isn't just for professionals to enjoy.

I actually nicked the method from the pro that did the photos when my old man remarried a couple of years ago. Her Camera sounded like it was belt fed, she must have been doing close to 50+ images for each shot, total must have been thousands of pictures, all that equated to 25 edited finals.

Prior to that I used to treat digital cameras like film cameras, trying to make every shot count and failing alot.

Just over 150 miles today, down into Kent to look at a couple of bikes for sale. One wasn't as described in that it wasn't even the model it said in the advert Laughing The other was supposedly immaculate, but it was only that if you believed in washing painted bike tanks with brillo pads - shockingly bad Shocked .... Oh well, got me out and about I suppose.

Took in a bit of the North Kent Downs.

Quite a frustrating place to ride - narrow lanes are Enfield Territory really but these were a bit too nadgery and coupled with a bit of heavy traffic, it was a ~15mph average speed snooze fest. I would say the scenery was stunning, but it wasn't really; you either looked down on Sheppey in the distance one side, or the M20 on the horizon behind you, and you couldn't escape the constant hum of traffic from the M2/M20/A249. It also doesn't really have any clear routes 'through' it, so you just end up sketching through little lanes before popping out back into civilisation where you didn't expect it to be. Not recommended.

However, there were some pretty houses / pretty villages / paddocks and the like.

There was also once a castle - the ruins of it are still there now in Thurnham. Never heard of it before. A good little stop off for a break Thumbs Up I'd imagine the walking is nice around there.

Had a bit of a grumpy day all round and didn't meet anyone particularly friendly. From a cafe owner shouting at me that they're not open (well, here's an idea, have a sign that says you're closed and don't leave the door open with people milling around inside) to a Harley rider that decided that he desperately needed to overtake me whilst I was at ~60 down a narrow back road, and that the best place to do it was just as I was peeling out right for best visibility around the upcoming left hand bend - a lovely close pass it was and a good job nothing was coming the other way or we'd both have had it. Somewhat annoyed but thought hey, no harm done if he wants to disappear right.... wrong - slowest fucker I've ever followed. Got to some twistier bits and I destroyed him.... on an Enfield. FACE-PALM. Bloody MC jacket wearer too, you know all the regalia, all the patches, RIDE FUR FREEDUM BRAH.

Went to Poole early this morning, ride there was ok. Quay was half shut and Baden Powell was covered over with boards to stop the Morons throwing him in the sea. Ride home was crap, tugged by a right muppet of a copper who tried to tell me my mirrors were illegal, told him what I thought of him which turned in to a 20 minute argument Rolling Eyes

Ship is registered Belize, wonder if it's a tax fiddle that doesn't look very big to be crossing oceans.

That'll be your White Privilege showing Laughing

How on earth can mirror be illegal?!

Went to catch up with an old Enfield friend of mine today.

Started out early at Hanningfield Reservoir before setting off for Maldon to meet him, and then over to Abberton Reservoir for a run.

Stunning finish on the thing - the flecks in the red paintwork are extraordinary.

I still don't know, by the end of the interaction we were just shouting at each other. I wasn't in the mood so resorted to insults pretty quickly.

I think he was just angry because I was doing 35 along a lane that was an NSL. He couldn't pass me, by the time I noticed him aggressively trying I decided not to move over Laughing

So he decided to make even more of a tit of himself.

We've had a great weekend of weather Laughing

More than a bit NBR but lockdown has really helped me focus on my local area more for getting out into the fresh air. Yesterday's walk was stunning.

Heybridge over to Ulting via Beeleigh Falls on the Blackwater/Chelmer and then came through the fields to the south.
