Envious, a (very) long time ago I got to see some of the Colorado Rockies but by car (and then across to Utah, Arches park, etc). Also spent time on the Canadian side of the Rockies when over there with the Army. Exploring any of those areas on a bike must be blissful.

Use a 3rd party hosting site. I use flickr. You upload there and under the share options you can get a code you paste in a forum and the image appears.

I'm in Wiltshire, we are lucky here no fixed cameras (mobile ones occasionally though).

The wide open spaces over there look amazing, I've watched a few videos of people riding trails and it seems to be endless open freedom, over here even living on Salisbury Plain you are forever having to check maps or signs to make sure you are "allowed" to ride the area you are in. The ability to ride mile upon mile of dirt/trail without giving two craps about being on the wrong kind of path is enviable.

It passed, of course - testament to its great build quality.

1750 miles between tickets. Let's hope I can double that this year.

Spent some time fettling this sixty-5 over the weekend. Discovered it's a pretty well sorted 535. I knew at purchase it had valves, cams, rockers and headwork but myself and the seller had no idea it had also been bored.

Took it for a shakedown run today in the woodblocks behind my estate. It's a bit of an animal compared to my 350, power seems to come in a big dollop at about 2/3rds up the range. I was spinning the rear alot in the woodblock Laughing , need to get a bashplate and a few little bits.

Decided today was the day to answer the question on everyones minds of which Enfield is better off road, 535 with a 5 speed or 350 with a 4 speed?

Took both bikes along the same 12 mile route that covered tarmac, metaled byway, mud tracks, chalk tracks, deep muddy watery shit and woodland. Plenty of inclines too.

For anyone that cares about the answer. The 350 with a 4 speed is the superior bike off road. The bigger one is fun but it breaks traction too easily and the 5 speed box is an arse to find neutral when everything is slippery. The engine in the 350 is sweet, power when you want it but very predictable and the 4 speed box while crap on the road is fine off road, with the added bonus of the neutral finder.

Prior to these I didn't name bikes, well beyond whatever I called them when cursing at them for whatever reason. These feel like they require names though.

More of the same today. Though I managed to thrash one so hard it proceeded to spew & burn half it's oil. Spent the evening stripping the head and valves, cleaning up and rebuilding. On the plus side I got to measure the bore and it definitely a 535.

Bunked off work yesterday (well accurately I worked till 2330 on Tuesday, so gave myself the day off).

Lots of activity on the Plain. First time in ages I've seen heavy armour actually out there, they must be having some fun before Boris cuts them.

Overtaking tanks. The front one revved his engine as I passed, I crapped myself Laughing

Warrior, this is what I spent my Army time with. Hideously out of date, basically just targets if Putin ever came West.

Lots of Deer running about in the middle of the afternoon. The armoured vehicles tearing around the woodblocks scares them out in to the open.

Wales was allowed out to play outside again, so I may have accidentally ridden past Snowdon on a little 150 mile jaunt.

Absolutely nowhere special - but last night my wife wanted to visit her brother ~20 miles away and the sun was still out, so it was absolutely rude not to:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51083770912_cfd70b992f_c.jpg

The fact it was dark on the way home didn't bother me. Although we did have one slightly scary incident about here:
https://www.google.com/maps/@51.6032005,0.3201561,3a,75y,223.6h,90t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1skEPuMQUFPqn_ylrUChTUUw!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DkEPuMQUFPqn_ylrUChTUUw%26cb_client%3Dsearch.revgeo_and_fetch.gps%26w%3D96%26h%3D64%26yaw%3D223.60268%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192

~50mph in the dark, and a fox went all Roadrunner on me. Thought about braking but that was too late so just rolled off and braced for impact. Little bugger got through and across just about in time. Only saw the flash of eyes as he looked straight at me and thought shiiiiiiiiit Laughing

~30 miles to open the account for the year.

Technically, the "5 mile rule" was just a guidance anyway. Dripford himself said as much.

But what am I saying- I have to ride to work anyway so nothing changed for me. Laughing It is nice to see, all of a sudden a lot more bikes on the road now though- they look like they're only out for pleasure though.

Indeed. And the guidance has changed from stay at home to stay local, but it is still guidance. There's nothing in the legislation to stop you taking a trip out across the country.

"The 5 mile rule" was the Welsh "Stay local". I still rode to work every day, snow included.

Anyway... I accidently'd the horseshoe pass after work today. Pic from 2 years ago because I was having far too much fun to stop.

Just couldn't resist today. Supposed to be working. Got loads on. Threw in the towel over lunchtime and disappeared out for ~90 mins to get some fresh air.

It wasn't my most flowing ride. Interestingly, actually, because when I got on the Enfield on Monday night I felt instantly at home. But I put that down to the fact I've now moved the bars to where they should be, rather than cripple hooking downwards for the brake and clutch levers as the bars had been rotated forward heavily. A bit of re-learning to do.

Still, was lovely to get out. ~30 miles to open the account for the year on the biggun.

Following on from my previous anecdote I dropped off a guitar to Bromley and somehow took a wrong turn on the way back and ended up in Westerham! Had to go all the way back via the A25, a terrible happenstance so it was Smile
