Newlands Corner, the infamous Dogging location. Look, a car has already given you the sign Laughing

I assume you just went for the roads, the views etc (nice photo btw).

It's a nice place and I do enjoy nibbling on sausage when up there too. Thumbs Up

EDIT:

Took my striple out down to Fontwell today, went over Berry Hill and rejoiced in the bikes wonderful handling. It does run out of puff on the straights, but she does do bends VERY well Mr. Green

Came back via A285 to Petworth and A272 to Loxwood.

90 miles and half of that in lovely blue sky and sunshine

"The sign"?!
Went for the views. I hear Surrey has the most dogging spots in the entire country, so it's hard to go anywhere without coming across one..

I was going to ride to Box Hill but only got as far as Abinger Hammer before turning back.

Giggity.

My favourite story was about Bob The Builder. Apparently a helpful gentleman emerges from the bushes asking you if he can fix things for you. It must be hot work because he wears nothing except a tool belt.

Excellent, great to hear you've been doing a dummy run before the infamous BCF Mayday run from Boxhill to Hastings * on 1st May.
It's a nice day to say hello to lots of people, although survival is not guaranteed.

* or somewhere else on the day depending on how lost we are, how wet it is and how long its been since food and coffee.

Guess what, I went green laning. Laughing

Just a quick shakedown run, did maybe 1mile of green roads, got 35mph out of it back down the hill

nearly got squished, but didn't, by a 4x4 who turned right across my path at a staggered cross roads , swerved to avoid them - typically helmet cam wasn't turned on so can't share Rolling Eyes driver seemed to be having a bit of a melt down after she slammed the brakes on, I just shrugged and carried on - suppose I could have spoken to her and said something nice, but I didn't shout either, I've had closer squeaks.

Gonna have to stay a dummy run I'm afraid.. I'm flying back from the colonies on the 1st

Finally made it to Ryka's this past Sunday. Stayed for a hot drink. Stared at the bikes. Ran (rode) away in quiet shyness.

Technically Sunday. But Paddy and I continued our Spanish Bromance.

Hired a pair of 125's. I elected for the KLX 125 and he took the Veary-dearo (without welded sprocket option). As he believed it was more suited to him. Went for a bit of off-roading but the volcanic rock did not really work for him!

That's alright, there's usually various BCF scattered across the South East trying to get un-lost for most of the day, plenty of time for you to come out to play Smile

Just kidding, enjoy your baby seal clubbing. Thumbs Up

I'm like a fatter, taller version of Hodor but in HiViz. Generally scared of humans and don't like them either (bikes are soooo much better). But the BCF lot are splendid and lovely......and mentally quite unwell most of them, which is good thing.
So it's definitely worth keeping an eye out on the South East forum for meetups and such. If only to be able to chat bikes to strangers without that awkward terribly un-British thing of striking up a conversation with strangers (although bikes do break down this genetic barrier generally).

100 miles down the A272 to Loomies and back again.
Started out with a mega shiny Striple that had recently been waxed etc

Got drenched and covered in mud, but had a great run so worth it Smile

Came home and rewarded the bike with some fresh coolant and myself with some dead cow.

Haha. I never leave the house without a compressor, puncture repair kit which don't fit under the seat. I also like being able to shove lid, gloves etc in there and walk about not carrying shit.

But today, I also went from Loomies to Halfords to pickup some coolant which went in the box.

But fear not, I'm not completely oblivious to the ugliness. So I promise, this is the last photo you will see with that topbox......because I've just gone and bought a slightly bigger one Very Happy

No pics, cos today's ride was a completely lunatic and irresponsible hoon from start to finish, and only stopped for a cuppa. Considering I've only ridden a bike about 4 times this winter, I think I can safely say that lack of winter riding has zero effect on my confidence, as long as conditions are halfway reasonable, as they were (for the most part) today Smile

Did my favourite Lake District route, about 140 miles, and found myself clicking with the Striple more than ever before, keeping that little hussy on the boil around 8 grand and above for most of that mileage, and screaming it to the limiter in every gear at every opportunity Twisted Evil So come summer, my license is most probably going to get shredded. Just goes to show, it isn't necessarily bigger bikes that threaten this fate. And I could probably do with buying shares in a petroleum company. Best part of two tankfuls in 140 miles - that's not very good, is it? Laughing

Except today I did stop for a couple of photos.

Put the freshly charged battery back on the Fazer and popped into town to get some WD40, cleaner spray and chain lube. Didn't bother with thermals or owt like that, it was so nice in the sunshine. But then, decided to take it out for a good run and went up to the Hartside cafe.

One lonely bike in a freezing cold, wind-swept car park at the (closed Rolling Eyes ) cafe:

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b550/nicknicklxs/DSCN8240_zpss4wafkpw.jpg

Bloody hell, I was shivering! Roads were good though, and completely empty. Since the cafe was closed, popped back down to the garage in Alston for a refuel and a coffee, then back home.

I think it every year, but it's great to be back on the Fazer. Being hurled at the horizon like that is just such a hoot after months on something with less power Twisted Evil I always have to remind myself to take it a bit easy to start with - very easy to get yourself into trouble on those twisty hill roads, and more weight to haul up than the diminutive little Striple. A much more serious proposition with 140rwhp on tap, but by God, it's so much more engaging! Suspension is so much kinder over the bumps too.

In Macclesfield, it was overcast, but dry enough for a bit of a fruity ride.

4 miles out of Macclesfield into the Peak District I was greeted with conditions fit for a scene in a new installment in the Lord of the Rings.

Either way, much fun was had thanks to the thundering V-Twin goodness.
