I find it odd that you'd even think of this Confused Can't say it's ever been a concern to me.

Just got back from a 10 day tour of Europe, with Austrian alps as my main destination for 3 days.

Cambridge > Ardennes > Black Forest > Austrian Tirol > Vosges Mountains > Reims > Cambridge.

Amazing weather on all days except one (when i didn't ride anyway), amazing roads ranging from open sweeping countryside of rural france to the fast and twisty B500 through the black forest right on to the switchbacks of the Grossglockner high alpine pass.

Bike never missed a beat love it. Awesome trip; already planning the next one.

You're talking to me as if I've never ridden a rural or mountain road before Tut Tut
I have actually done the route I'm thinking of before. The worst, or let's say, greatest potential hazard I found to be some of the blind crests with sharp corners just beyond them. Survived them that time though, and now have foreknowledge of them for next time.

Survived hacking along the N260 and coming round a blind bend to be faced with this, too:

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b550/nicknicklxs/DSCN9062_zps82tb7zd1.jpg

Could have been nasty Shocked

Do you have a motive for trying to put me off? Thinking

Agreed, wrong place to post really. What this needs is a thorough report with more photos in "Touring and Exploration". Please!

Yeah tis something to look out for in the peaks too.

At the end of May the SE crew came up and we were pulled over on the A54 literally 100 meters away from a blind crest and we had to wave arms like loonies to make sure a Porsche coming down the road wouldn't hurl itself over the crest into the sheep standing in the middle of the road.

Just one reason why I always slow down for blind crests, even when I know the road well.

Camping with the family this weekend. Undecided to take the extra long route. Found some nice Twisties along the route and a few nice places to stop and take in the sights. Nice afternoons ride.

went to Abergavenny to the bus park where lots of folks on bikes meet up on a sunday, had a bacon sandwich at the 'oasis' greasy café there, not much unusual except for a Czech registered street triple RX

I walked all of that in 12 very enjoyable days back in May of 2012 - good memories. Camped in a field behind Chesil Beach among other places.

Must admit, despite riding there fairly frequently I've generally stuck to the main roads and headed for Portland Bill everytime (which does have some nice views), but I'd like to do a lot more of the cliff paths around there after today; didn't realise how many "accessible" routes were hidden away from the more built up areas.

That's part of the South West Coast Path, goes all the way from Poole to Minehead, with only occasional interruptions where the path becomes unsafe - as you saw. One of the best, if not the best, long distance walks in the UK.

After the weekend entertaining little nieces and nephews, I took about 2 and a 1/2 hours to do a 40 min ride home. Spent more time exploring and finding some beautiful roads and scenery with a sprinkle of sunset in the New Forest, plus spotting some birds that I was yet to tick off the check list. Yes I know; Bird Watching = Sad

Lots of positive feels were positively felt. Positive times.

https://s20.postimg.org/f7u0zpcul/IMG_20170624_103903.jpg

Found a really nice windy road through a rare hilly bit of the New Forest.

https://s20.postimg.org/5m0gjelot/IMG_20170625_192612.jpg

Then only some vast open areas with straight roads, although littered with docile animals.

https://s20.postimg.org/ai43b3lu5/IMG_20170625_201807.jpg

Then a pond.

https://s20.postimg.org/gx347rsjx/IMG_20170625_203614.jpg

Thumbs Up
