Blast down to Rykas, busy today as sun was out. Then down towards east grinstead up the A264, nice stretch of road also seem to have developed a leak ____________________ Observation is the greatest source of wisdom. |

I went out on green lanes, yet again, but today I took the Honda CRF250L, stuff I would have blatted about on my 2T, I was sliding around on my heavier Honda with it's compromise road leaning knobblies - and I was too lazy to drop the air pressure also.
But, I will be doing a lot of road miles on it, and the tyres are good enough for the occasional green lane day.
One lane I've not ridden in years, and another that I've done only a few times in recent years.

To the pub!
Since I've been DIY'ing all day around the house, I hadn't been able to get out on the bike. So wifey came with, and we stuck 50 or so miles on through the country lanes and over to a nice boozer that does great food.
Liver and bacon goodness

Still getting about on the Chinese pos
Today I did take the Honley from Ipswich to Colchester and back.
Not the most exciting of rides but an afternoon out and I learnt something.
Now the Chinese pos is starting to settle down after having fresh fuel through it and a bit of use.
I bought an Air-Hawke pad/cushion to deal with a plank like seat.
What a difference the cushion/pad makes.
After the trip of approx 55 miles, my bum was fine and did not hurt in the slightest
I took the bike via the A12 to get there and it kept up with the traffic just fine.
I would not like to use this bike on main A-roads and motorways on a regular basis, but occasionally it`s not to bad.
On the way back I went via the small back roads through Little Bently, Little Bromley, Lawford, Cattawade, Stutton, Tattingstone, Bently, Washbrook, Sproughton, ect , ect.
The bike was perfect for these small little back roads and a pleasant ride was had.
Nothing spectacular to see , just a few nice views and some nice villages to bimble through.
For an area so close to the large towns of Ipswich and Colchester, it is nice and rural/quiet.
EDIT : I did have pictures for this but Photobucket is being all c*nty and I cant get them over to this site.
EDIT EDIT : I now have a imgbox account, so how do I get the pictures over to here please?
https://t.imgbox.com/zc2bmG6g.jpg
EDIT EDIT EDIT! I think I`ve worked it out? sort of? possibly?

Quiet on the roads at this time, but the campsites through Borrowdale looked to be doing a roaring trade.
Fish and chips in Keswick, then home. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Every time I see a picture of your bike I think of a decepticon from the Transformers.
Great view , wide expanse, where exactly is Portsdown Hill? ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now! |

Yesterday evening went out for a rideout with my L plated bro in law on his XR125., Jesus those things are slow.
He's been struggling with confidence and won't stray more than a couple of miles from his house. So fired up the Spacker &
took him for a run on pretty much every kind of road he's allowed to use, we did big, little, mini and double roundabouts,
and covered 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 roads. Stopped midway at a pub for a drink break and asked him if he enjoyed the ride
and he said it was 'sick' which I'm reliably informed is a good thing.
Quick pint of shandy and a little debrief. He forgot to cancel an indicator once, and some of his lines were a little
'creative' but he was alright other than that. Gave him a couple of suggestions of things to try on the return leg which
he handled just as well. OMG I think I imparted knowledge. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

Bimble after work 6pm yesterday turned into 180 miles.
Went from Guildford to Salisbury and back via New Forest. Got home 10pm having to acknowledge the terrible truth, which is my Striple no longer gets me excited.
Don't get me wrong, it was enjoyable (after all, I rode for 4 hours only stopping twice for fuel). But I wasn't grinning like an idiot, just extremely calm and very peaceful. Which was in stark contrast to the noise and engine violence that befell the South Downs
EDIT: Also, went to Ace Cafe on Sunday to see Haroman666. Dude is legend!
The ride up was unpleasant, the ride back was horrible. 90 mins to do 40 miles is nuts.

The Street Triple isn't about bimbling though. Wrong bike for the job. Take it to some roads that you ride purely for the hoon, when you're in hooning mood, and you might start to enjoy it again.
But I have asked you before: do you have the right bike for you ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017
