The Street Triple isn't about bimbling though. Wrong bike for the job. Take it to some roads that you ride purely for the hoon, when you're in hooning mood, and you might start to enjoy it again.
But I have asked you before: do you have the right bike for you Question

Of the 180 miles, I did 120 miles of my favourite roads as fast as I am capable. I am the slowest of the SE lot, least able to lean and trouble the edges of my tyres. But was overtaking everything and never being caught by anything else.
The faster I went, the more calm I became. I basically felt stoned, but was sober.

Can't ever sell the Striple. Done too many miles and tweaked it to nearly exactly how I'd like. It does most things ok and I'm sure there are many adventures yet to be had.

I test rode a couple of litre bikes and wasn't smitten with them even though they had a lot more power.

As you say, a different bike may be the answer. Or as we've spoken about, something different altogether and park bikes for a bit maybe.

Bimble after work 6pm yesterday turned into 180 miles.
Went from Guildford to Salisbury and back via New Forest. Got home 10pm having to acknowledge the terrible truth, which is my Striple no longer gets me excited.

Don't get me wrong, it was enjoyable (after all, I rode for 4 hours only stopping twice for fuel). But I wasn't grinning like an idiot, just extremely calm and very peaceful. Which was in stark contrast to the noise and engine violence that befell the South Downs Smile

Not far from me, if your down here again, give me a shout for a cuppa Very Happy

The ride up was unpleasant, the ride back was horrible. 90 mins to do 40 miles is nuts.

80 terrible miles, but not just for your smiley boat and some awesome sausage. I had to show off my gold brake lever. Very Happy

You were the first and last, the only person to witness the awesomeness. More people saw Jesus turn water into wine.

Have now replaced with black ones.

You don't have any statues in your house do you?

How far from Loomies are you? I'm about 40 minutes and sometimes pop down for bike night.

Today I did do errands around the Mistley area.
I thought I`d take the Chinese pos and see how I`m getting on with that Air-Hawke cushion.
I am happy to use this bike now and the Air-Hawke cushion makes so much of a difference Thumbs Up
After the errands were sorted, it was time for a bacon roll and a cup of tea at the burger van by the river.

https://t.imgbox.com/B9J9GBff.jpg

Wrabness and to the Golden House.
Grayson Perry was involved in it`s conception and design, and I was part of the team that looked after it just after it`s construction.
now it`s occupied .

Then on home via washbrook/the back roads where the Honley is in it`s element.

Sorry the pictures are on their side, I dont know how to cure that? I`m working on it ? clueless Confused
to small? kin ell! this image posting is hard Evil or Very Mad
Click on the picture to get a better look Thumbs Up

Keep an eye on https://trf.org.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=110&sid=38227eed1776a0177471e486494cde06

and also start lurking in the Off Road section on BCF

If you want a green laner, you realisitcally need a budget of about 1,500.

Or, get a dog and mend it.

Or, get an unsuitable bike for less money and bodge it, it will break, eventually, but much merriment for pennies.

Green lanes again, same route as yesterday, but with different friend, lent him my Honda, as he is a complete novice and tends to drop is Tenere 660 - which he needed to get home again Cambridge. Cambs is huge though, this photo was just across the Cambs/Beds border

Did 50 miles over to Hever Castle yesterday. Was not enjoying the ride over due to suspension tinkering that hadn't panned out.
Traffic was a complete mare too. Roads in poor condition as well. But jeesus, the traffic.

£17 to get into the Castle. Should have checked before. Looked at the car park and it was rammed with people carriers.
Half term / summer holidays are not a place meant for single bikers.
Figured, I'm not paying £17 to be surrounded by screaming kids, queues and blocked photo ops.

So went back home to re-tinker the suspension.

Went out again and did 100 miles down to the new forest. Only made 1/4 turn difference on rear pre-load and found the bike sat on its arse. But feck it, carried on.

Traffic was a mare.
Arrived to find my favourite out of the way cafe by the sea was being demolished and a massive "visitor centre" being built in its place.

Sat on a bench staring out to sea for a while not overly enthusiastic about how the day had panned out.

Jumped back on the bike to head home and found that, although the bike felt really weird dragging its arse, it handled unexpectedly well. It was 7pm when I hit Winchester and I took some proper liberties on the way home.

300 miles, most of them very slow and miserable.

People talk of the fair weather rider, or the summer rider, those that come out for "the season". I think that when it comes to half term / the summer holidays, that's when I pack up riding for fun during the day. It's pointless round here.

Unlucky. Tbf, it's not just down there. I avoid the Lake District during the school summer holidays, unless it's for an evening ride. If it's any consolation, I'm nearing the point now when I won't be able to take the Fazer out anymore, due to lack of funds. Got two more rides plus BBQ planned, then that's probably pretty much it Sad

10/10 for effort though.

Popped down for some Fish & Chips at the Poole Quay bike night. Some interesting bikes down there.

Although this things tick more boxes of being car than they do a motorbike. including automatic bear stick, reverse gear, hand brake etc etc. Got lots of attention though:

This one actually had the rear end and engine of a porche:
