Well, as it was dry tonight, thought I'd 'blow dry' the bike dry up, where I couldn't reach with the towels yesterday.
So, it was off to Solihull, the round via Redditch, Headless Cross, Bromsgrove and Kiddy before finally arriving back in Wolves .. Bike is now finally completely dry, as is my jacket & gloves
At, Headless Cross - 1 for the Sabbath fans, gives me an idea for a new thread/topic

Then Bromsgrove
https://cdn.bcf.44bytes.net/files/hyosung_st7_2016_20180528_bromsgrove_1.jpg
Hard to imagine I was riding the same bike only yesterday through, thunder storms, hail & torrential downpours !! ____________________ Beware what photos you upload, or link to on here, especially if you have family members on them |

Basically, if you look at a map of Ireland we just stuck right to the coast roads in the North West, then followed the roads anti-clockwise and headed towards Glenveagh national park, that was like 90% single track. We had a route planned but the satnav was playing up trying to take us up random farm tracks so in the end I just followed the signs for scenic routes, which are little brown signs with squiggly lines on (S) or (N), it worked out very well in the end. We did the coastal route of Northern Ireland to and from Larne to get to and from the ferry (Portrush to Larne via Torr Head), included Torr Head of course. Epic trip but barely scraped the surface so need to get back over there. 5 days at least would have been better, 2 of the 3 days were essentially commuting, then the full day we had for exploring was hindered by the puncture.

Had to borrow some pics off my mate as my GoPro footage was rubbish, the big screen + satnav didn't work well with the chest mount at all.
The Z1000 got a puncture but luckily fixed it with my repair kit, 500+ miles on it and good as new still, the rack mount also snapped which was fixed with cable ties. The Triumph developed a coolant leak, very minor one thankfully. The KTM was excellent, a bit thirsty but I was thrashing the life out of it as usual so can't blame it but usually was putting in an extra 1.5L of petrol over the other 2 bikes at fuel stops, very comfortable and capable on fast roads and single tracks so worth it for me. ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

Short blast to Crieff via Dunkeld and the Sma Glen before work. Had a pretty frightening incident with a deer on the way home. Fairly small thing, it came sprinting out of the trees to my right hand side and performed a flying heedbut right into my side. Saw it unfolding, it was impossible to avoid, thought I was going down. Felt like hitting a wall, sent me across the road. Sare hip, smashed indicator and a Bambi knee slider. Somehow stayed on .

Penrith and back, via the hills, 180ish miles. Spent the day dodging the rain, was absolutely lashing down in Penrith but sunshine over Hartside Pass for a change, and no traffic Got home, put the bike away and it started lashing down, happy days ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

It's the Pigeon and Arry show again - hetero-life-partners partnering for life in a totally heterosexual way.
Road trip, weekend in Lincolnshire. We stayed here:
https://www.woldsviewtouringpark.co.uk/
Nice site with the cleanest facilities I've ever seen (until Pigeon took a grade 4 gluten induced beer poo which literally shook the earth to its core). The owners were such a lovely couple and nothing was too much bother - couldn't have been more helpful and kind if they tried. They do a nice fry up on the weekend too in the cafe. It's a 10 minute walk into Caistor for pub / restaurant etc too, so a few beers were had.
Coming from different sides of the M25 we met at a cafe in Peterborough and made the ride up from there, using as few main routes as possible. We found some absolute belters but the roads through the Wolds were pretty good generally; could sit at a nice 75m cough kilometers per hour and fast sweepers, some undulations and the occasional tighter bends made for a good mix. Local standard of driving is high too, with locals moving over and being complicit in overtakes. The area is green green English countryside and has good views / scenery as you ride through. I managed not to touch a motorway all the way from mine to Caister - opting instead for a route through from Warley, into the Rodings, up to Saffron Walden and then out through Chatteris and Pondersbridge. Pigeon wasn't so lucky, with the M25 being a bit of a nemesis.
Didn't take many pictures as we were just busy riding, really. We did go to Skegness just for the ride, and on the Sunday we visited RAF Scampton and the memorial museum at East Kirkby - neither of which were open We really should have checked, shouldn't we.
Was happy with my packing:

First time back on the KTM after nearly 14 months Update; it's still the most ridiculous thing I've ever ridden. I'd liken it to mounting a bucking bronco whilst wearing an ammo belt full of grenades which have had all the pins loosened. It's only a matter of time..... |

Managed to finish work a little early today, so went for what ended up being a slightly longer run out than intended.
Popped down to the cafe @Quatt for a chip butty, before heading off to Bewdley, via Wolverley. After Bewdley, decided to join the A456 heading towards Leominster, before turning off for Ludlow, and then across country back to Bridgnorth, and finally home. Still only 100 miles or so, but a nice ride out .. Not so many photos, as typically, my camera shuffled of it's pedestal, now need a new point & click !!
Anyhow, here's the route..

A couple from Wolverley

Only out and about locally today, can't go too far until the mother in law finally corks it !! - God, she can linger, but that's another story !
Anyhow, after breakfast at the Farmer & Friends, and a nursing home visit, it was the Classic Bike Festival at the Royal Oak in Wolves today, so managed to pop up for an hour or so. It was quite busy and the band was pretty decent to boot as well

Hartside, Penrith, Kirkstone Pass, Windermere, Kendal, Hawes, Brough, Middleton and back. The "big loop" we call it, 230 miles more or less, long day out, used to do it on the little SM's and be fooked for 2 days after, much better on the big bikes ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

A few from my trip in may, should make a thread as I have tons buy laziness won the day. Met a buddy in Dijon, did most of the route Napoleon in the French alps, made a run to St-Tropez as we got caught in some huge lightning and ice storms in the mountains for some days.
https://puu.sh/AIXKm.jpg
https://puu.sh/AMW48.jpg
Camping just next to this town and swimming in the alpine lakes each morning was just glorious.
https://puu.sh/AMWey.jpg
https://puu.sh/AMWz7.jpg
https://puu.sh/AIXLV.jpg
https://puu.sh/AMWgY.jpg
Another huge storm was rolling from the coast towards the mountains where we were. We decided to head east pretty much to the Italian border than turn south and head over the col d'allos. Very strange going from 25 degrees sun, to thunder and torrential rain then hard packed snow up at the peak.
https://puu.sh/AIXJi.jpg
https://puu.sh/AIXKL.jpg
https://puu.sh/AMWfw.jpg
Middle of the route Napoleon. The start of it was a bit congested and heavily camered but this middle section for about 20 miles was just incredible road we to ourselves in the evening. Gave the SV a absolute spanking in the twisty parts.
https://puu.sh/AMWaT.jpg
https://puu.sh/AMWaO.jpg
This was the campsite beyond St-tropez. This was just some guys farm and was about a mile of offroading to get in there. Was brilliant fun, bit sktetchy with the sv's oil filter being the first contact with ground though...
https://puu.sh/AMW7n.jpg
Walking down to a much needed swim.
https://puu.sh/AMWjL.jpg
One of the best days, long old ride down there, awesomely quiet camp site, then just a few beers and floating in the sea in a quiet cove.

Had a ride out to Stratford last night, on the ST7, 140 mile round trip, would have been more, but took a quicker route home, for the bike night on the riverside. Not so many photos though, as the missus was pillion, and, not so keen on me stopping to take pics !! lol Oh, found a chippy, with no chips !! Marvellous. I have to say, good roads, but the A422 between Worcester & just outside Stratford, is a good road to ride along 👍

2nd ride of the year!
Same route as the first, 116 miles, but this time took pictures
I've probably posted most of these views before, but what the heck.
Was too hot - this is Cumbria we're talking here, not the south east - too hot to do anything longer
Skiddaw north side in the background:

Coledale fells from near Keswick:

Stopped at the Filling Station as usual. Never really been blown away by the looks of the MT09, but for some reason, as I sat with my bacon butty and cuppa, I was quite taken with this one, from this angle:
https://s20.postimg.cc/k6x4u5x59/DSCN0858.jpg
Alas, it was the chap who used to have a Fazer same as mine (though not so nicely modded ); he'd chopped it in for this MT. As they say on the Fazer Owners forum, "you'll be back!"
Skiddaw from the west(-ish):

Blencathra from the same viewpoint:

Helvellyn:

Then on down to Ambleside and up The Struggle to the Kirkstone Pass:

...where it wasn't much cooler than anywhere else.
View into Patterdale:

Haven't yet been able to identify these fells, seen from the Patterdale side of the Kirkstone:

The Kirkstone Pass climbs up to the notch on the left; Middle Dodd and Red Screes to the right of it:

Spent the past 3 days in Scotland, 850 miles done and dusted. Very short notice trip, struggled like mad to find hotels but wasn't too bad in the end. Went up to Inverness/Dingwall, down to Fort William, then to Glencoe/A82 onto Dunoon, ferry over to the main land to save time , down to Ayr, then Dumfries via Galloway and other amazing roads, on to Penrith, Hartside etc and home.
Would not go up via the A1 again, or would avoid the A9, what a shite road that is, chocka block and the average cameras are a total menace, don't even think they can detect bikes but not going to risk it. There's far too many cameras up there, and the speed limits are pointlessly low some times.
The A82 is an awesome road all the way, probably the highlight of the trip. My GoPro shit the bed or I'd have some decent shots.
