Spent some time fettling this sixty-5 over the weekend. Discovered it's a pretty well sorted 535. I knew at purchase it had valves, cams, rockers and headwork but myself and the seller had no idea it had also been bored.
Took it for a shakedown run today in the woodblocks behind my estate. It's a bit of an animal compared to my 350, power seems to come in a big dollop at about 2/3rds up the range. I was spinning the rear alot in the woodblock , need to get a bashplate and a few little bits.

Wales was allowed out to play outside again, so I may have accidentally ridden past Snowdon on a little 150 mile jaunt.

Technically, the "5 mile rule" was just a guidance anyway. Dripford himself said as much.
But what am I saying- I have to ride to work anyway so nothing changed for me. It is nice to see, all of a sudden a lot more bikes on the road now though- they look like they're only out for pleasure though. ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11

Totally agreed! But you know.. there are some times days in a commute which actually make you feel "yearh...." Normally only the mornings. ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11

Just couldn't resist today. Supposed to be working. Got loads on. Threw in the towel over lunchtime and disappeared out for ~90 mins to get some fresh air.
It wasn't my most flowing ride. Interestingly, actually, because when I got on the Enfield on Monday night I felt instantly at home. But I put that down to the fact I've now moved the bars to where they should be, rather than cripple hooking downwards for the brake and clutch levers as the bars had been rotated forward heavily. A bit of re-learning to do.
Still, was lovely to get out. ~30 miles to open the account for the year on the biggun. |

Following on from my previous anecdote I dropped off a guitar to Bromley and somehow took a wrong turn on the way back and ended up in Westerham! Had to go all the way back via the A25, a terrible happenstance so it was ____________________ Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |
