Made it to Thruxton this weekend. My firm sponsors a team, so paddock passes, free food and drink, sit on the bikes, etc.

Love a bit of 'corporate' hospitality.

I got paddock passes for BSB some years ago as we did a fairly big deal with BeWiser and took a mate who'd just got into bikes along with me. He was expecting champagne and canapes on the terrace with a formal meal and after dinner speeches - so was somewhat concerned when we arrived at a trailer in a car park dishing out cold egg sarnies and warm beer Laughing

Laughing My wife was same the first time I took her. To give credit though True Heroes Racing ( compete in superstock) push the boat out. Their trailer and tent setup is bigger and better than some of the BSB ones and the lunch buffet is pretty good with more than you could ever eat.

I can get passes for all the rounds but I only ever go to Thruxton, it's a few miles from my house. All the others if the weather is good I find myself thinking, "rather ride my own bike".

It grows on you Smile, i thought it was ugly as sin then i had a shot and it feels like its on rails, holds a line very well and the engine + quickshifter makes for great fun.

I went from 1300 supdeduke r to Tenere T7 and missed the acceleration smile so go this. I done 440 miles and im a big guy and pretty comfortable, its too small for me but prefered it over the mt10.

What mount do you use? I got one of the eBay things and it's ok on an upright bike but on anything that leans you forward it doesn't allow the cam case enough adjustment to get a good view.

I use this with the adapter pack. https://dango-design.co.uk/

Easy to remove if you need to quickly

A few months ago I was on my way to Hunstanton for no particular reason when I passed a sign with a name familiar from a primary school trip 50 years ago ( Sad ); Castle Rising. I couldn’t remember anything about the castle except the name but it turns out it’s a proper 12th Century castle with a (dry) moat. I went there today. 150 mile round trip on the Kawasaki. (I must get the Yamaha MOT’d) Lots of traffic happily doing 40mph in a 60, and despite the A10 being a Roman road it wasn’t always easy to get past, so I had banzai moments interspersed with “this’ll do” trundling in a queue. I got drenched north of Ely but it was dry at King’s Lynn. On the way back I stopped for petrol and thought I was about to get nicked when a police car parked at the pump behind. The policewoman looked like she was coming to have a word but walked straight past and into the shop.

Bonus shot of Ely Cathedral on the way to Norfolk. Note grey August sky.

More C90 shenanigans; this time the hilly western fringe of the Peak District. Quick 1.5 hours including a 20% climb (Pym Chair).

Here was the sunset view over the Cheshire plain with Manchester visible to the right. Lovely evening for a ride. Thumbs Up

252 miles covered today a mix of Weardale, Lake District and North Yorkshire dales on 3 Gen 1 Fazer 1000's

Met at Stanhope but no decent shots.

First stop was Nook Farm Shop for breakfast

Then over Hartside Pass down to Penrith and onto Ullswater (photos from just outside of Patterdale, Pooley Bridge was heaving!)

Then up to Kirkstone Pass Inn

Over the 'Struggle' into Ambleside then up the A591 to Keswick Filling Station Cafe.

Devils Bridge and Hawes was decided as the way home, so A66 -> M6

M6 Services somewhere near Killington Reservoir

Then the journey home via Hawes -> Aysgarth -> Leyburn -> Richmond

Last shots taken at Scotch Corner services where mysteriously Andy's Fazer had used more fuel than mine and Jacks (we had a quarter tank each so about 45 mile, he had fuel light circa 5 mile).

Nice brisk day out in some glorious scenery.

Couldn't get the obligatory Tank hulk photo as a range warden had set up on a hill over looking them, so a Humber Pig will have to do.

Slightly epic 220 mile jaunt today. Out at 6am, across to Malpas (west Cheshire) for brekkie then up through the hills west of Oswestry before climbing over Pont Cwm Pydew then dropping to Bala for coffee. Then across to the Llangollen valley, to Worlds End over the moors and back across Cheshire. All lanes and B roads throughout. Shattered but it was pretty epic. Areas I thought I knew, but it’s like a new place when on the lanes.

Quite a few complaints on the FZS 1000 group page we didn't invite more out! Jack only got his in April bit of an accident really he was hoping to be outbid but ended up with it.

It's a Vortex exhaust, previous owners mate worked for them and made it himself, the looks is a bit too BSA A10 peashooter scaled up but my mates grown to like the sound and the unique look (very unlikely there's another with anything similar).
