Long may that place be a proper caf' with canteen mugs of tea and cheap(ish) eats.

Have they put the stupid 40mph speed limit in yet they've been harping on about? SPECS cameras nearby but not on the Horseshoe itself last time I went over, but that might have changed.

The office. First time in 2 years. Close to the fastest I've ever done it, so the ULEZ and school holidays are working in my favour. Still terrifying, still also drudgery but it's a billion times better than getting the train.

Decent ride yesterday from Manchester, with a few mates; across to the Ponderosa for brekkie (yes, the Horseshoe Pass is now a painful 40mph limit Rolling Eyes ), then Bala, over the tops into Beddgelert before heading back through Snowdonia and a blast along the A55/M56 to get home quickly (as I'd told the Mrs I'd be home for early afternoon Embarassed ). Amazingly for a Sunday afternoon the A55 was flowing freely. Great day though. Thumbs Up

MOT station for me today - no pics as it's not exactly scenic.

Little Donkey Enfield in for its ticket. Passed just fine, just as I expected it would.

First time I've ridden a motorcycle since September last year. Ridiculous.

To work again. It's not far but it's a nice ride at 6.30am. Any day on the bike is a good day Smile

Went out for a couple of hours today, about 85 miles or so around the Aylesbury area.
Just one small incident when a bloke decided to enter a roundabout making me ease off the throttle a tad.
A quick parp of the rather loud* horn I have woke him up and had him waving apologetically.

*considerably louder than my old OEM horn.

Yesterday I did ~110 miles around Essex to grab some (what turned out to be incredibly sour, off and well past its best) seafood.

Today I went over into Kent, and did ~90 miles, for a change of scenery.

Took my Duke890 for its first (600 mile) service, 100 mile round trip otherwise I would have had to wait until May to get it done….

In the forest, ...

EDIT: It's in the Beskydy mountain range, located in the north-east of the Czech republic. In the last picture you can see the highest peak of this moutaint range, Lysa hora (1323 m above the sea level), roughly translated as the Bald mountain. Motorcycling, road cycling, MTB, hiking ... it is my favourite place to be.

100 yards, two corners on the way to the Yamaha’s MOT. It then stalled and would restart but stall again. MOT cancelled and spanner’s out at home, beginning with some new plugs. Perfect biking weather too, and I’d checked it over during the week. On the bright side it wasn’t too far to push it back home.

Little trip to Norfolk with a mate last week, for a couple of nights - took Bimble because I've been enjoying it recently and had done an oil change / it was ready for action.

The Honda couldn't actually take its own luggage so up stepped Donkey:

I didn't get a lot of pics from the trip but we did stop at Hunstanton for some fish n chips. Lots of bikes on the front.

Not so much where I've been today, but rather where I've been over the last week. Finally, after 2 years of covid-postponement, managed to do the NC500+. Started from Manchester, rode up through Glencoe then north to Spean Bridge before picking up the NC500, riding it clockwise then after Inverness heading to the Cairngorms, followed by Holy Island, cross country through Northumberland then across the Hartside Pass before heading back home. Just shy of 1400 miles of pure epic-ness. Had one really rainy day (Achmelvich to Dunnet Head) but given it was pretty much dry the rest of the time I really can't complain. Here are a few images from the trip;

Corpach and the Caledonian Canal with Ben Nevis rising behind:

There are, of course, countless other photos but these are some of the highlights. Thumbs Up

Forgot from the original (but I guess it wasn't really part of the NC anyway), a picture from atop the Hartside Pass. Wow - I've cycled over it before (many moons ago when the cafe was still there) but never ridden it. It was pouring it down, but it was totally empty and modern tyres meant fun could still be had. Given the cloud, the view from the top was non-too-shabby either. Bet it's epic on a clear day!

Not mine for much longer Sad Sitting in the rain, poor soaked bike.

Apparently the exhaust Skorpion was from the same company as Akrapovic before they changed their name to that.

Who would have known that the polished front of the frame is a right turn off. I suggested taking a bastard file across it if they didn't like it. Some poor bugger took time to polish it! Ach well learn something new everyday.
