 |
|
I've been looking around at DAS prices, I'm 27, so no worries there.
I've found a decent looking price on a place in Wimbourne (one of the few schools that have updated websites atm) but they use XJ600 ABS models.
I've never ridden or pillioned anything with ABS, and was probably overthinking things, but got a bit worried my current braking knowhow would be redundant, or even hindering to an ABS setup.
Basically, should one avoid tests on ABS bikes, or would it be just fine and I should stop being such a nonce about it?
Thanks! And sorry for another ABS thread, I read through a few, but couldn't really find much of an answer. ____________________ Sometimes, I touch myself and smell my fingers. |

Haha, yeah, I'm probably overthinking it all, bad habit of mine
I was basically uncertain about how ABS changes things, and if it's as you say, then yeah, I'll stop being a nonce about it ____________________ Sometimes, I touch myself and smell my fingers. |

It is Let's Ride
I done my CBT with A2B, which is just up the road from me, but the guy was an ass, put me right of them.
looking around Let's Ride looks pretty reasonable.
Thanks for the reassurance guys, I'll man up and earn my pink ____________________ Sometimes, I touch myself and smell my fingers. |

Richard there is great, so you'll get on just fine. I often see him around with students, and he still comes and speaks to me even after all this time.
Let me know when you do pass your test, i'll be happy to go for a ride some time as we are very local ____________________ Current bike: ZX6R J1

I'd heard a suggestion that some examiners don't want you to trigger the ABS because it's a "controlled" stop not an "emergency" one, which sounds ridiculous and probably is.
Worth asking the training school, but I imagine that the answer will be "What twat told you that bollocks?" ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I'll be at Poole for the test I assume, just up the road from me also!
It'll be nice to go on the A350 with a better bike though, WOT on the CBR gave me a smile, but it still won't compare.
I'm not overly worried about the 'controlled' stop, I've managed some pretty decent real life stops on the cbr, with it's crappy irc tyre and cheap front brakes, if they do fail me for activating it, it'll only be a few quid really.
Got some healing to do first, but getting on the case! my CBT runs out in September ____________________ Sometimes, I touch myself and smell my fingers. |

Yea i did mine in Poole, and they were fine with it. Richard will probably take you down the Quay on one of your lessons too, especially if it's a nice day, just for a drink and a chat about what you need to do. ____________________ Current bike: ZX6R J1

You have no reason to worry about the ABS dude, it takes ALL the worry out of the emergency stop. Just slam the anchors on as hard as you like and you will stop almost instantly with no drama what-so-ever bar a slight pulse of the brake lever.
ABS has been a revelation on my CBR6f, cant understand how i ever lived without it, will most probably not go back to a non ABS bike when it comes to trading up. ____________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OPv5mDPQ14
