The bike will be crushed with you strapped to the fucker.

If they got your No. then you'll swing.
If they never got the No. then you'll be cool.

It was safe for me to go at such speeds. But can someone tell me what to do next? What should I expect?
My bike is around 7 months from new and I don't want to lose my licence.

Failing to stop...you'll get a knock at the door, chances are you'll either be nicked, or just reported for the offence and have a day in court. You'll most likely get points for the speeding thrown in too.

Failing to stop is.

25% - 75% of your weekly wage.
Maximum of £1,000

Speeding is (in court)
Up to £1,000 fine (25% - 75% again I think)
Up to 6 points.

I was that police officer, you got away and we didn't get your plate. However, you posting in this forum gives me the legal right to request your IP address from the site owners and soon we'll come knocking. Thanks, policing can be easy, but you just came on a plate!

The thing is everyone on bcf has done the same, I've just manage to always do it when there is a on duty/ off duty police officer around the corner.

Hey let's all admit to having committed a serious crime on a public internet forum accessible by all, including (some say) the Police who actually have some members that are able to use the internet! Rolling Eyes

FWIW I see bikes doing 50 in 30s every day in London; come 2 in the morning, even the black cabs are touching 50 along Euston road / A501 / A40.

I think it can be safe, in the middle of a wide road with good visibility and surface, and a willingness to give up speed at the early signs of anybody else entering the road. Primary reason I don't do it is because it's the threshold for summons in the APCO guidelines. So I do 45 at most.

It's a 30 due to pedestrians and a built up area. All it takes is one wide turn, slight slip or mis-judgement and bam you could easily kill someone.

I'm not sayin that everyone sticks to the speed limit but no one can excuse it

Actually, it's 30 because that's the speed at which a human torso hitting a non-yielding solid object has a 50% chance of tearing its aorta.

I'm fairly sure that riding at exactly 30 is more dangerous in London due to frustrations and dangerous overtakes from behind, though.

I don't agree; it would take more than one misjudgement to kill a pedestrian when riding in the middle of a wide empty road with good visibility (which implies a straight road in the city); both you and the pedestrian. A slip will just leave you sliding down the middle of the road, and a slip while straight upright on steady throttle is highly unlikely in any case.
