Moving on from my little 125...

So I've had my restricted license for about 6 months now. My little CBR is good fun, but the lack of poke after ~40 mph gets really boring when I'm stuck behind some coffin dodger on an A-road, or lorries on the motorway.

I really like supersports - the full fairing and narrow bars makes commuting otherwise really fun, but I am acutely aware they (generally) don't restrict well.

Without going mental, a logical progression (I think) would be a Ninja 250 or CBR250R. The problem is, decent examples are outside of my budget and with the prices they're fetching I could get a 600 instead - kind of sours the deal a bit.

For various reasons, I don't want to spend more than £2k.

It seems that most things around that fit my requirements are getting on for 10 years old. For example an SV650 that fits the bill would have to be <2002 it seems; Thundercats, GSXRs, even older. I really don't want something old and shite that is a pain in the ass to live with.

So what are my options?

I know I'm going to have to compromise on something - so what about the more sitty-uppy type ER6F, CBF style?
