I'm thinking of bringing back regional forums. They will be visible to all but only browsable/postable to people who have joined the relevant usergroups. The ones I propose are:
  • Scotland
  • The North
  • The Midlands (already running)
  • Wales
  • The South East
  • The South West
The idea will be that meets will still be announced in the main O&E forum, but the planning/organisation will take place in these local forums which should mean more security and less clutter in O&E. I will need one responsible regular from each area to volunteer to maintain the groups, approve new members and run their area's forum.

Does anybody have any comments?

Aren't there a few NI members too? Razz

I don't mind running the south east one, although I'm not sure I qualify as 'responsible'. Laughing

Sounds like a good idea though, at the moment each outing seems to generate several threads in O&E, one for 'is anyone interested' one for 'who's coming?' and one for 'organization'.

Either Stu or myself should run the North Forum. Zak's hardly ever on here and would leave it to go neglected, like before Razz

I haven't been around long, but if no-one else in the south west that is better suited wants to do, I wouldn't mind.

I was gonna volunteer as I didn't think there were many south-west bikers here, but if there is any kind of voting to decide, I'd vote for you :>
And yeah it is a good idea, although I fear the SouthWest won't get much action, as its normally all you people up north, and in the midlands and everyone kind of converges on your locations.
Curse you, the south west coast is great riding :<
But yeah, it sounds like a good idea to me, at least then I can work out who else is from the south west :>

The local forums would be nice for organising local weekend rideouts etc Thumbs Up so long as certain events such as trackdays still get mentioned in the main O&E forum so that people dn't miss out on all the fun stuff from further away.
I would moderate the Northern Group if required.

Give it a go Korn, if it fails again then at least you have tried. Thinking

Actually looking at your version of the map with its divisions I would fall into the midlands area. Shocked Confused

The divisions are a bit silly for me, because technically I live in the north west (I get north west news) but then the Staffordshire border is literally a 2 minute walk away from my house.

Can I be in two local forums? Laughing

I like the idea, wouldn't want to mod for the South West though, too much of a responsibilty right now, besides if there was any outings, they would all leave me behind anyhow. Crying or Very sad
