XR 250 lights messing about, fortunately a few days after the MOT not before.

Full beam works, dipped light doesn't, side light does. Changed bulb same problem. Incidentally, the 12v 35w/35w from Halfords looked exactly the same, but it didn't fit, bayonet fitting, wouldn't turn. I had to file off a tiny fraction of the studs to get it to turn.

Think it's just one fuse. So, wire, or switch I guess? Wires look okay.
So, guess it's the switch?

What next, replace switch, fix switch, hit it with a rubber mallet and spray it with WD40?

Or just wait till next years MOT and bin the lights? Laughing (I'm not keen on parting with too much of my cash you see)

sounds like the switch to me as both beams and dip share a common earth with the main headlight dip and main sharing the same fuse and a common feed, almost certainly a broken connection around the switchgear or possible broken wires around the headstock area.
