I got the buzz for the Dakar back in the 80's when it was the Monster Trailies. Loved the Africa Twins I had and if I won the lottery big time I would have every type of large Trailie in my garage even the Suzuki DR 800 Big. As for the KTM, yes that would be on my list as would some of the others. I would even try to get a team together with some good riders and enter the Dakar.

The problem of where I am at is that there is no real stretches of road/land to have real fun on such bikes, only little short bursts.

Documentary focused on the older stuff - including someone on a Vespa style scooter and someone in a Rolls Royce.

That is one of the reasons why I have no desire to relocate. I have weather and riding paradise and a great lifetsyle here.

Suprisingly, not so many KTMs here. We are outnumbered by BMWs and sportsbikes.

The Dakar to me is the best of riding. We also have the Roof of Africa. Track just doesnt interest me so much.

KTM in the first 5 places. The dakar is just getting too one sided.

I presumed as much. Keep an eye on torrent sites and it might turn up; but it wasn't really that great a documentary to be honest.

I like the fact that they've twice changed the rules to try and stop KTM winning and have entirely failed to do so.

I'd like to see an open-class re-instated seeing that it turns out KTM happens to be just good at dirt racing regardless of the capacity of bike they use.
