Temp changes make a big difference to fuel economy.
You're on the choke for longer to get it warm, and the cold will cause tyre pressures to drop - increasing rolling resistance & thus decreasing fuel efficiency. Also with all the wet & muck on the road the chain probbably wont be lubricated quite as well as normal, so again - more friction, more effort to turn the wheel, fuel consumption increases.
All this adds up, but to only loose 25 miles a tank realy isnt anything to worry about

how much do you drop the oil and service the tappets?
I reckon that bad oil could drop mpg by ten per cent, but then so can getting a bit confident wringing the guts out of a poor pushrod 125 in Britains modern traffic. ____________________ nearly a normal tax paying tosser.......with ferrileness suzi100,cg125,cb125scb100n,cb175,cd100,cj250t,kh250,c15,125 bantam, super 6,rickman gs750,xt500,250rs,dt175,lifan125,dolomite1850,metro,Morris220ld,morrisfg,leyland princess, range rover, corsa,vw camper .now struggling with legs.
