Bit of an odd one, sat on bike went to move it and assumed it was in gear as Neutral light wasn't lit, held clutch to start and nothing.. so fiddled with shit to no avail only to realise my ignition was off..
But what the hell my ignition was off, and even with steering lock on my starter button still turns the starter motor just refuses to start...
Any ideas? ____________________ GOOD GAME BODYGUARD: https://i.imgur.com/8WePGgf.jpg

I've got a mate (really!!!) who's divvy will run without the key in. He gets it going then just takes the key out. And it continues to run unaffected ____________________ '96 Suzuki GS500 |

1997 xj 600 so not exactly old, im more concerned about the fact ive just noticed this in the month or so ive owned it... thinking maybe it has been done by scumbag steve and his scrot friends trying to hotwire it or i really didn't notice.
My other xj never did this and it was older, what benefit would there be to wiring it to perm live, just allows people to play with it and flatten the battery ____________________ GOOD GAME BODYGUARD: https://i.imgur.com/8WePGgf.jpg

it may be production fault or common miswire by owners/mechanics?
you need to route the starter switch live feed,or the starter solenoid live feed through the positive from the ON position on the key,its only a low power switching wire . ____________________ nearly a normal tax paying tosser.......with ferrileness suzi100,cg125,cb125scb100n,cb175,cd100,cj250t,kh250,c15,125 bantam, super 6,rickman gs750,xt500,250rs,dt175,lifan125,dolomite1850,metro,Morris220ld,morrisfg,leyland princess, range rover, corsa,vw camper .now struggling with legs.
