Well my boy is 8 now and I've been promising to get him into motocross for the last year.

Before diving in we thought it would be a good idea for him to do some training/experience days.

Chiltern Young Riders are not far from us, just wondered if anybody has experience of taking their kids there? Alternatively, any suggestions for somewhere else to try.

Thanks.

This is my experience from 13 years ago now.

There were three tracks. A proper motocross style, a smaller oval (about 50 odd metre straights linked by two corners) and a small 10 metre or so loop to get the basics of bike control.

Good bunch of guys there to be fair. Couple of shipping containers with loads of kit, like most enduro/motocross rental stuff, don't expect it to be clean or fragrant.

The bikes are typically kept in ok condition.

It's ideal for your little to learn the basics for not much money. I learnt to ride offroad there when I was about 10/11. Had me razzing around on a KMX80 within three 1 hour sessions on the medium loop and a couple of sessions out on the full track.

May well have changed now to be fair.

HTH though. Thumbs Up

EDIT -

Looks broadly similar to when I was there from the look of their site, the same guy running it. Good bunch of guys there. Thumbs Up

Similar to my experience really, went there around 10 years ago to start off road riding. Good bunch of guys the teaching really helped me out! Very friendly and bikes always seemed well maintained etc. The used gear was a bit ropey though!
