Why is it grinding?

Are the spacers in the rear wheel in the correct place?

Is anything bent?

(Suspect this may be a troll as you're asking how dangerous it is to ride home with your rear caliper hanging off.)

He has red karma for a reason Thumbs Up

Of course it's safe to ride with it hanging off... it's not like a calliper is heavy enough to snap the brake line and have brake fluid spill all over your back wheel Rolling Eyes

Laughing

I don't have the time to keep up with the ever increasing number of attention whores and trolls on here now. Thumbs Up

In that case to the OP, just ride it home as is. If it wears through your rear disk and it falls off you'll go faster due to the reduction in unsprung weight.

That bearing hasn't been fitted properly and has also been damaged while being fitted and needs replacing.

Look at the rounded-off adjuster bolts and the temper-losing hammer marks in the end plate. He was told before the spacers were in wrong but just refuses to pay attention.

It can't be fixed. You've really done a number on that.

It would need lots of new parts, probably a new hub, certainly a new bearing, and probably a new brake disc.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Having been there once already why don't you swap the wheels over. You'll probably need a big hammer and a jemmy bar and a drill to fix the rear sprocket to the front wheel. It's always better to have the knackered wheel on the front anyway.
Once upon a time there was a bloke called Darwin whose anthropological studies led to an awards system being set up, if you try really hard you may just qualify - I'm sure we could have a vote on the forum to get your name put forward if you make a real effort. Go for it, you've nothing to lose Wink

What you talking about build quality? The bracket has been munching the fuck out of it for a good two week now no brake disc could with stand that.

I don't get why you have done this? The hell happened and why didn't you just do it right the first time Shocked

your bike is literally illegal to ride in this state Razz

So you just rode without putting it in?

Generally if something doesn't go back the way it came out then you've done something wrong Wink
It's going to cost you a lot more now than it would have getting it done properly the first time Thumbs Down

It's so easy to take a backwheel off I don't get why you've had so many problems

The disc is fucked, the caliper mount is fucked, and the caliper probably needs sorting, it's probably gonna cost you
