Step 1. Get broken LCD.
Step 2. Remove panel to expose backlight
Step 3. Fit TV

Finally. Get nice soft, bright light, very cheap/free/

I'm sure it's not a concern but won't a tv but more costly to run than normal lamps?

Well, it could be LED backlight, then it'd be like 2 times 25 to 35w which would be very good.

For the little time they get used when doing bench work, it's probably not much in it when you factor in buying more lighting, and then paying to dispose of the TV's as we can't just throw them in the skip.

Plus we have about 6 of these too.
