ive just this second returned from quite a nice bikeride, was real pleasn't, till i was driving down my road leading to my house, and some prick just swerved straight out into my road, without looking, in some dodged up black beetle car, i slammed my brakes on and the rear end of my bike flew right up, im actually amazed that i still have the bike in one piece, i just drove off afterwards.
the kid in the car with his mates just laughed, while i beeped my horn shouting a load of abuse at him Razz
first close call ive had on that bike, and im fuming with rage! some people are just natural born idiots, i bet that kid didn't even have a licence, and hell, he looked about 14 anyways, he just, came straight out of one road right into the path of me! he came flying out of that road, till he actually looked in front of him to see me endoin at the front of his beetle, agh, what a bloody idiot, methinks im going to go looking around my neighbourhood for a black beetle in anyones drives.....
hehe, gotta admit tho, that endo must have looked good Razz

Yeah somebody else said this in another thread "Treat every car as a potential threat".

Last week a car pulled out in front of me on a roundabout!!! I beeped my horn loudly, he just started waving his arms around pathetically.

I think its about time the government chose to put signs up at roundabouts saying "Give way to riders on the right" Rolling Eyes

I've had car drivers that pull out but notice you and apologise, which is fair enough - a bike can be difficult to see, but then I've had plenty pricks who pull out and either notice you or don't and carry on driving, like you weren't even there.

Not all car drivers are bad, but all have the potential to seriously hurt you - remember that.

Smash his rear windscreen! It will cost loads to get a heated rear windscreen for a beetle, wear gloves as well so that you can't be done for fingerprints or DNA. Laughing Laughing

If somebody apologies then I'm usually pretty much instantly placated... hopefully they will learn their lesson etc and did think about it.

or just get a big mallet and whack his front pillar where his windscreen is and smash the windscreen. They wont be able to fit a new windscreen and the car should be a write-off. afaik lol

A hole in the roof is also an instant write off.

Bloody van drivers... A transit van (pickup thing) driver just pulled out from a junction into my brother the other day, wrote the bike off, made a 1/2" deep gash in his thigh, supposedly 2" wide and 8" long... Evil or Very Mad (Now he's a cripple for 2 months and unable to finish DAS, work or anything for ages..)
The van driver tried to just drive off from the sounds of it too, but got stuck in the traffic. Thankfully said traffic being rush hour means there were plenty of witnesses, and there was a handy fire engine about 3 vehicles back to give oxygen, first aid etc.

Basically, I think you need to treat every junction with extreme paranoia, treat van drivers like ignorant incapable buffoons, and assume they will try to hit you, given the chance.

im a cautious rider, no filtering, no overtaking, i do nothing like that,
(normally cos ive got the impression my 50cc just wouldn't be able to overtake quick enough...etc...which can get frustrating at times) cant say the same for the many bike riders who've shot passed me and any cars in front tho, it makes me feel soo small when they do that Sad.

If you want to get him really pissed... Just use a claw hammer and punch a hole through the roof. Most of the time it's good enough to have a car written off
