having issues at moment trying to source bulbs for my indicators (12v 10w)

just spoke to a motorfactors who asked what the indicators are etc so i told them basically "ebay specials"

these

bloke in the garage then said "even if you do find blubs they wont be e marked so you will fail a mot anyway"

is that true?!?!

also do indicators need to be any specific wattage?

You can't fail an MOT for not having an E-marked indicator.

It can fail for one of the following reasons on indicators:
1) Missing or obscured.
2) Does not show light of the appropriate colour.
3) Not working or not flashing at the correct rate.
4) More than half the LEDs are blown in one lamp.

I have put bikes through the MOT with a 5W speedo backlight bulb in there before now. Conventional ones are usually either 10 or 21W.

i suspect the offending bulb is really a 21w item
take your old bulb to halfords...

https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_212793_langId_-1_categoryId_165538

https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_187157_langId_-1_categoryId_165538

i think the 2nd is most likely culprit.. but take the old bulb with you.

Very Happy

or local car parts shop... I've found my local shop is cheaper than online for a lot of things (for example: spark plugs, online £6-8 each, car shop £4.95 and in stock)

.. think you`l find the Mot. tester don`t have the time ,energy or inclination to strip the bulb out to check the wattage or any other markings on said bulb.

I've got a pass on plenty of bikes with cheap ebay chinese led indies, I'm sure a bulb will be fine.
