Hi folks,
I'm once again in need of advice regarding a KMX125 I've got, the problem I'm having now is fuel pouring out of the overflow, and the exhaust filling up with fuel (and the bike not starting of course)
Id just fitted a new head gasket, the bike fired up easily and ran fine for about a minute then died. So I did the usual compression check (145lb) checked spark etc, then pulled the exhaust off and realised it was full of fuel! So I stripped the carb down to find a lot of rust particles inside and under the float valve so after a good clean I thought my problem was solved.
Then after reassembling the bike fired up long enough for a couple of revs, then died and fuel started pouring out the overflow in vast quantities! This time, only a tiny amount of fuel in exhaust. Pulled carb again, no visible obstructions in any of the jets, the float moves freely, the float valve looks in perfect condition, and the float floats
I would measure the float height but I'm not too sure where to measure from? Is it from the lower part where the gasket sits, or the slightly higher rim that goes around the outside?
Are there any other possible causes of carb overflowing? Or could it be something to do with there being too much fuel in the crankcase perhaps?
Any advice welcome and much appreciated!!

pretty simple will be the float valve. strip carb off again and take the float valve out put a pipe on the fuel inlet on the carb and blow though with a compressor or use your lungs. inline filter help with blockages. once you have blown though refit the float valve, then press it closed with your finger and try blow though to make sure its sealing correcly. if this doesn't fit your problem then you will have to set the float height this will be in your workshop manual.

If fuel still pouring out the carbs overflow, check the float height is correct if it is then replace the floats valve and valve seat.

Thanks for the replies people, turned out my fuel filter wasn't doing its job properly and bits of rust keep getting under the float valve and holding it open. The bike still wasn't starting after sorting this though so I wacked a new spark plug in there and it worked!!
Strange how the old plug would spark outside the cylinder, but not when fitted. Should've known really, I used to have a DTR that munched through its spark plugs roughly every 80 miles (running rich due to seized mixture screw). The plugs would still spark when tested but not when fitted.
2 strokes eh??
Now I would be taking my bike out this very second to tear up some forest trails but its SNOWING!!
