While a lot of 125s can be wheelied, a much better bet would be to get a more powerful bike. This makes it a lot easier.

Are you passing your test?

If not, why not?

Your friend sounds like an idiot - did he explain whatever concept he had further?

You can wheelie a CG125.

You can wheelie a ped, so his argument is silly.

Bigger bike would be the easiest option.

Not really, the small bikes are lighter, so therefore easier to get up. It's just harder to sustain on a small bike.

You don't need wheelie schools. They're the fags way of learning. Don't look online for tips, just go out and do it.

i think in order to get any good at wheelies, you need to go through a 'fuck it, i dont care' phase.

I've been learning on and off for the last year or two and have only just started finding the balance point (although i cant hold it there for long yet).
I spent about a year just slipping the clutch and carrying 12" wheelies through the whole gear which is a bit gay but it got me kinda used to the front wheel being off the floor.
Then for some reason, one day, i just thought fuck it, i'm gonna get this bitch up and keep it there even if i fall off and thats when i really started learning how to do proper controlled wheelies.

Im still no expert and havn't learned how to steer the wheelie or change gear yet but i can happily pop it up and keep it there using the throttle to control it up and down.

In fairness most of my recent learning has been done on a crf450 which is cheating a bit as this bike powers straight up in any gear from near tickover Laughing

This is me on my yamaha Dt125x it's pretty standard just a earthed Cdi wire & an air box snorkel removed the bikes in 4th when clutched up it comes up in second and third relatively easily,I've seen alot of people trying wheelies on them and the majority of the riders seem to be shit, the best thing to do is just get out there on a shit bike and start dumping that clutch Very Happy I've got a friend with a ktm400exc and a another friend with a wr426 and I can wheelie a DT 125 just as far as they can and they have like 40 odd hp compared to my measly 14bhp and if I were to get on there bikes wich they don't like because I can ride them better than they can Very Happy to be honest it's just practise but your better of with a 2 stroke 125 for it that a 4 stroke 125!! Good luck.
