Rear Caliper on the ZX7R has one seized piston and knackered dust seals so off it comes ready for a strip and rebuild with new seals etc.

Was going to do it myself, but searching for seals and other bits on ebay found a place that will rebuild it for me for £39. Bargain I reckon as the seals and new bleed nipples would have cost over £20.

Am I being lazy? Probably. Smile

why do you need a new bleed nipple?
Dont know if they are any good but ive been looking at seal kits for the CBR600, rear kit is about 5 quid, genuine is £12.

The piston looks rusty but I imagine it might clean up perfectly, if not a new piston is 20 quids.

I doubt rebuilders use genuine parts, so your getting the same quality as a ebay kit. Im not sure if the seals can be trusted, Nikone have poor reviews.

The bleed nipples are rounded/chewed up.

Still think when you consider the labour time £39 is a good price. The caliper will get split and have a proper solvent bath clean.

£5 for a seal kit on the CBR. That's a single piston caliper though isn't it? The ZX7R is dual so twice the seals and internal half seals when it is split.
