Hi,

These are my right hand knuckles after trying to get my oil sump bolt undone.....

The pic was taken after I finally managed to get the blood to stop. I scrapped them on rough concrete slabs.

But I did get the bolt undone and change the oil Thumbs Up Very Happy Thumbs Up

Ouch indeed!

Sad

This advice is too late on this occasion but, having suffered similarly in the past, I now always wear an old pair of motorcycle gloves whenever trying to get a stubborn screw/nut/bolt undone. I find the moment when the stuck b*gger finally gives in and releases it's grip is the worst...

Whenever I work on the car or bike, I always manage to pull my hand out of somewhere and have a load of blood dripping off Embarassed

However, scraping my hands due to poor use of sockets and spanners never happens Razz

I've had much worser, i was trying to undo a tight bolt with massive ratchet, i was pulling it up with me just above. It slipped of the bolt and smacked me straight on the nose, my nose is already broken but if it wasn't already it would have been again Wink . But fck it hurt, my eye's didn't stop watering for ages (looked like i was crying) and my nose was bleeding for ages too. I'm always cutting my hands on them sharp engine casings Evil or Very Mad .

Oh dear, why is it that when you've hurt yourself somehow like in this case you're nose that you always keep on hitting it? Ain't life a bitch sometimes!

When I was an apprentice in a truck repair garage they always told me to pull on a ratchet or spanner and never push away from you which is all very well until you get a face full of 19mm spanner...oww Laughing
