April 1st Ace Cafe - Southend [Southend Shakedown Run]

So I just asked on Fagbook if anybody wanted to join me, and someone alerted me to the fact that its April 1st... April "Fools".

Now, I don't want to sound all naiive and that, but are they doing a cheeky joke or is it a genuine ride out?

Regardless of what people are saying i'll probably go for a ride out that day anyway but I just thought i'd double check.

If it's a goer, anybody gonna be going?

Tagged along 15 miles outside Southend last year, was bloody mental, only time I've seen more bikes is at silverstone race weekend car park. Gutted i can't make it

I might be riding from Cambridge. Depends if I go home for easter or not. Unlikely; but a possibility.

If you want to hook up on your way down to the Ace, i'll be leaving from Hatfield if not Cambs so I can wait on the slip road for the A1.

RM20 1AF Is the drive through one so easy to park up etc.

Mrs Kwakerz has said she'd like to go on this one if its not chucking it down, so I'm happy to meet up with some fellow BCF folk either at the maccy d's or on route on the A13 or A127 if anyone is interested.

From what I gather they take a 3-road route, so rather hard to get lost. So usually anyone who wants to go fast, just goes fast. Theres enough bikers on the Shakedown to be in a group no matter what your speed all the way there. Then theres a big lag behind of lots (I am told sometimes hundreds) that sorta waddles the way there.

Haha! Well, if MCN is to be believed, last three years have summoned over 20,000 bikers to the Shakedown. I imagine your not going to be alone.

7 day weather forecasts are not the best but saying it will be around 5 degrees, maybe some sleet/snow around midday...

Last year was so much warmer.
