BBQ paint on the exhaust(seen a few people on here asking about exhaust painting), probably replace it with and aftermarket soon though

New grips, think i need some lock wire or glue to hold them in place

https://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii302/ian505050/ian505050%202/DSC00981_zps2c260bae.jpg

new front sprocket, chain and rear sprocket looks fine. On road bike i normally change everything in one go.

Gonna try and clean the rims up with a dremmle and these

https://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii302/ian505050/ian505050%202/DSC00984_zps5a20e33f.jpg

new shifter to fit

I want to do everything that the service schedule suggest at the major service point apart from piston rings as the bike seems to run spot on.

I am tempted to do the valve clearances but motomatrix my local offroad place does the check for £25 and a further £6 for each shim that needs replacing. Ideally i would like to watch someone do it before attempting it myself for the first time.

Checking the valve clearances really shouldn't be complex. A bit harder to replace them.
One of the positives of the WR400 is that with the steel valves it's considered to have a pretty good service requirements - in reality should need messing with a lot less than the lighter and quicker 450 top competition bikes.
