I posted about this before... but apparently it's coming later this year.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2292318/Transport-minister-urges-oil-giants-delay-introduction-green-petrol-amid-fears-8-6million-cars-incompatible-new-fuel.html

At least the MP is trying, and actually considering the road users who don't drive brand new vehicles like all the MPs...

I'm guessing the 10% ethanol (shitter quality and less MPG) will be sold for what we're paying now, and there'll be 5% at a bigger expense on a separate pump.

If all "facts:

# Inefficient
# Higher or similar cost
# Only compatible with newer engines

Are known publicly. I find it hard to believe this will end quietly.

Crikey, the Germans didn't like it up 'em.

Still don't, it seems.

This.

Already affected a lot of Ducati's here and even more in the US where they were hit with a lawsuit. My old Monster one got a bit out of shape and I managed to get it replaced free of charge after a couple of emails

(I think my ST has a metal tank anyway Mr. Green)

Nothing will change, it's like there now being a bio diesel and normal diesel option.

Regardless of what people think of the oil companies, they aren't going to damage their bottom line by having everything containing that level of ethanol.

....and there's already ethanol in regular petrol too, just not (yet) 10%-worth.

Much of this is driven not by the oil companies but by legislation. You can bet the tax won't be lowered so the governments win either way.

Use corn as petrol instead of as food... Surely such a nugget of stupidity could only have originated in the minds of uncaring selfish unelected bureaucrats from Brussels whose sole purpose in life to enrage the population.

Eh, it's just another way to subsidise revolting French farmers (I know that's redundant). Total eco-scam, even the saner greens recognise the futility of using fossil based fertilisers to turn crops into fuel.

The sooner we grow a pair and tell Brussels to get fucked on these issues, the better. Everywhere else South or East of Belgium just ignores them, and we could too if we weren't ruled by supine suck-ups.
