Ok I have a 1989/90 zzr400 K which is a friends, he has not long bought it but came to me with a problem which has started last week and got worse.
Origionally it would pull to 9-10K then start missing which I now now to be the common speed restricter fault but now it just won't rev at all it starts fine and runs on light throttle no problem but as soon as you try to give it some throttle it just bogs down and won't rev, I have removed and stripped the carbs and blown everything thru with compressed air and everything looks ok in the carbs now, all the diaphrams seem ok they all lift the same amount and same speed when you try the throttle with the airbox lid off.
If I put a hand over each trumpet at a time for 2 seconds with it running so it sucks extra fuel past the needle it will rev once until the excess fuel is burnt off but I'm not convinced it is a carb problem really and this could be masking something else?
thurther digging today found that the pink wire to the cdi has been pulled out of the plug so that it the origional 10k missfire I guess.
any ideas? Twisted Evil
