My textile trousers have knee pads in them which, when I'm on the bike, sit with the top of the pad level with top of my knee, the bottom of the pad going down my shin a bit which seems to be the correct place.

Bought some trousers from Aldi for those short trips to and from friends houses / pub etc where i don't want to have to wander round in full on biking gear, when riding the pads find their way up to sit on top of my lower thigh / knee which makes me wonder if it'll be anywhere near where I need the padding if I were to come off.

had me wondering where, ideally should the pads sit when I'm on the bike?

any ideas how to keep them there?

Stand up straight and fall fowards onto the ground letting your knees hit the ground first. If they're covered, you're good, if not, it will hurt.

When standing they should be just under knee cap so when sitting thet are on the cap, kneel down and see where they end up

+1. I did this when trying my trousers on in the shop. Looked a bit mad, but it worked!

You may find that you can move the pad down in the pocket a bit to getting them in the correct place.
