tl;dr etc etc...

For anyone interested in my slightly camp afternoon. I got Ella back.
It feels like I've won custody over a child. haha! But she is my cat.

Me and Rox got her a couple of years ago, and when she broke up with me just before Xmas, I had to leave, move out, and loose most of my belongings, including the cat.

But looks like one of the neighbors have grassed her up to the landlord about the cat, and I got the offer to take her away.

Was a bit of a hard one, because where I currently am, I've got Lacy, who is a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and quite protective of her own home.

I decided to give it a shot, and if it didnt work out, Dam_buster and his wifey Vicky offered to look after her until summer when I get myself a new house.

Introduced them tonight. Ella didnt seem too bothered, just laid there, Lacy cried a little, huffed, and pushed at the cat carrier with he nose...

Then some eye contact was made;

https://sphotos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/24293_10151403281080606_1006194387_n.jpg

Lacy shoved her nose right up against the cat carrier after this, and I think Ella was a little bored/fed up of it, so she hissed, punched Lacy on the nose, and then laid back down.

Lacy shat herself, and ran to lay on the sofa. Laughing

Cat's now up on my bed, stuck the baby gate across the hall so the dog cant access the two bedrooms up the far end of the house, cat has the run of two rooms, and can (If she wishes), make a run for it down through the baby gate, and to the garden etc.

I think after a few days, it'll settle down and they'll probably be sharing the couch together. Lacy's pretty relaxed around other animals anyway. And she's not overly jealous.

So yeah, that's my story! I'm a bit happier now too. Razz

Coolstorybro etc etc....

I remember the Team Binge vs Team Rox 'war' from years ago Smile
(or maybe that was just me trying to stir up sh*t) Wink
Anyway - sorry to hear it all went tits up again .. has she gone running back to that workmate again ?

But remember, what matters is the cat Smile
She looks exactly like my old cat Princess ... lovely looking thing.
And dont worry about them getting on ... mine was introduced to a dominant (bit*h) alsation , and on the first day tried to climb a window through fear, etc etc.
Within a week... all was good (being careful and using common sense).
Then for her remaining 3 years she used to sleep on dogs head .. and if she dog got too 'playful' she would let her have it.

The moral of the story here is: All women are bit*hes and bite/scratch ... slaaaaags the lot of them*.

* caveat: all women except our mothers, daughters or current birds !

Just grew apart tbh. Then she started doing little things to piss me off after I walked away from everything.
Kinda karma when she was told to get rid of ella. Nice company for me too when i get mt new place.

Ella is okay. She slept on my bed last night.
Not the most flattering picture of her as shes on high alert with the dog.
Fantastic little cat though, proper docile and chilled out. Smile

Nice Pet's you got there, and I hope they get on well too!

I wouldn't mind a proper pet now at my place, As I did have some marine fish given to me for a while, but they died like I was told they would. I'd kind of like a big dog, mainly so that I could combine my evening runs, with walking the beast and take it with me fishing and when I ride along the canal on my bike.

But if I don't get a dog, there's a decent chance of getting both a bike and a car part finished and on the road in 2013, so im not sure?

How long could you leave a dog in the house, garden for anyway? I work 10hour days, so it's a bit much really, and i'd feel horrible leaving the pooch behind as I go out to work each morning too.

Lacy is in the house from about 9am, to about 5pm, every day. She is well trained and wont do anything.
She knows to go to the toilet on her morning walk, and that will see her through until one of us are home, and she'll go again on her second walk of the day.
It's rare she goes in the garden to be honest, which saves on the lawn getting ruined. Laughing

The pair have mingled today, Ella came down the stairs, and they had a bit of a staring contest, before Lacy got a bit excited, pounced, and Ella had to warn her away with a swipe to the nose again. Owned! Razz

She has her safe zone, which is in my bedroom, locked off by a baby gate. They've touched noses through the bars on the gate a few times, and I think the feeling is now rather mutual.

The cat's behaving normally, eating, and using her litter tray.
Dogs just laid next to me on her sofa.

This is about as relaxed as they've both been. Both laid down, both looking at each other.
Cant be a bad thing. Could be the start of a great friendship. Smile

She is a girl! Razz

And it's a flea collar, because of the new environment, I'd rather prevent anything. Plus, I have no idea what state she was in at Roxanne's. She had fuck all litter or food when I went to pick her up, and I found out she'd been left in the house all weekend while she was up seeing somebody in Newcastle for 3 days. Rolling Eyes

She was our cat from the age of 6 weeks, and she's never really had a collar on until recent.

She's a mega laid back cat anyway, like all of the time.
It's quite funny watching her with the dog. They will sit looking at each other, then the cat will run off, the dog will chase, then the cat will stop dead, turn around, making Lacy completely soil herself, and run away. Laughing

this is why i wanted a "cute" rating! because if this rating existed this is when i would use it! so i am going to have to give it a different thumbs up rating!

its nice to see someone who has a bond with animals and cares/ looks after them Smile

Haha, she wishes! She's a wimp.

Day 3, and the cat now knows she has the upper hand on Lacy. She lays by the baby gate now, stretching out on her back, and poking her paw through the bars to tease the dog. Little cow! Laughing

Well glad to have her back. She just laid with me now, purring her head off.

Cats as settled in as she's gonna get now.

To the point where she knows exactly how to piss the poor dog off.
Lacy is shit scared of her, it's quite funny actually.

I came downstairs this morning, Lacy was sat in the corner of the hall way crying.
Wasnt sure why, then looked around to see Ella doing this; Laughing

Lacy was too scared to go to her food in her bowl.

You have to laugh at cats & dogs together. We have 2 dogs & 3 cats. One of the cats has been brought up with the dogs, the other 2 are rescue cats. The little black one, Cheeky, has no teeth & something wrong with his back & is small for a tom cat. He just has a funny gait, can't jump higher than the seat of the couch. The 2 dogs are terrified of him, if he sits in the doorway neither dog will go out.
It was funny this morning, it was raining & the staffie hates rain. I had the orangerie door open and Cheeky was sat in the doorway. Neither dog would come in until had moved, they were out in the rain for a good 5 minutes Laughing

This little cat rules our house Thumbs Up

The first few pics and I thought, damn that cat looks a proper beefcake, looks like it could mallet the dogs head into the ground with one punch......a few pics later and I'm thinking, that dog is HUUUGGE. If the dog yawns too aggressively, could accidentally swallow the cat!

But mostly I just thought they were the coolest paring known to man.

Some good has come out of a less than good end.
