Looks like amateurs. If you were going to use it to avoid ANPR or petrol station drive offs wouldnt you take more care when stealing it? Hardly going to take two minutes to unscrew and looks a lot less pikey having a whole plate than a little over half.

Check up the street for it, could be kids being little gits or someone with a vendetta against you maybe?

This, it's just some dicks who like breaking things, the same type who key cars for no reason. Some men, burn, world etc

If they wanted to steal them I think they wouldn't have snapped it to bits as that's bait as fuck Razz

contact dvla, and the police in writing. that way at least if there's a robbery, or some speeding tickets etc come through you can show them that you had your plate nicked with photos, and back it up by showing them correspondence with the police and dvla.

I wouldn't bother with the fuzz.

I got a letter from them saying I had been caught doing 40 in a 30 and they weren't going to charge me it was just a warning. The bike was in bits in my garage at the time, I called the police and said I think someone must be riding on my plate and they didn't give a shit. Wouldn't even make a report just told me to ignore the letter.

Suppose it's always possible, but I can't see how. The angles, and physics are all wrong as it's on the outside of the mudguard.

Maybe it was cold enough to just break from vibration. You have to seriously ask yourself who, other than a proper nutter, would break a plate like that? Even the most rabid of chav kids wouldn't find pleasure in that (and wanton vandalism is all about pleasure).

I'm calling Act of God. Mr. Green

Which one? I'll send him a strongly worded letter of complaint, and see if I can claim any expenses.

If someone had ripped it off, the chances are at least one of the plastic screws would have broken, probably both (I've ripped a few off old scrappers myself, the head normally comes off the screws easily). I doubt a stone would have done that coming up off the road. Looks more like some bellend has shot it with an airgun.
