After deciding that I will be doing my DAS and not the restricted licence I have been working out my budget for a bike. I won't be getting a bigger bike when I pass until next May when I should have a years no claims bonus.

The bike that first made me want a bike when I was a kid was the ZXR750, especially in green. Does anyone on here own one or could people point me in the right direction as to common faults and typical trates of the bike.

Insurance doesn't seem too steep to be honest, even Bennetts online quote came out at £600 TPFT and they have been shit for me! The bike will be used for commuting to work which is around 20 miles of twisty ish roads and obviously weekend blasts and meets.

Even though your doing a DAS course and can ride anything one you pass, I would highly recommend you stay on something 600cc or below, because the ammount of people who pass and then go and buy some supersports wander and find its way past there abilities and end up crashing it and damaging themselves in the process.

Just my opinion Very Happy

If you've got the cash then get the ZX7R instead! It's the newer version and looks Cool !!!

Most new 600cc bikes would probably match a ZXR750 for power these days anyway so I wouldn't worry about getting one as a first big bike. I want the ZX7R so much but I couldn't afford one right off so I got the 400 just for now.
