There is the fact that all of the ones that are adopted have released their code.

People that back crypto are not generally morons.

So you understand the source code of all the stuff you've invested in?

Do you realise how easy it is to make an app, stick it on the play store and write a load of bollocks to make it sound legit? I put one on just yesterday. It requires user registration. The passwords go through a SHA256 algorithm because I'm a nice guy, but it's actually quite scary knowing how easily I could now be hoovering up every user's login information right now.

There's a reason for the three big warnings about data loss and hacking on this page explaining how crypto wallets work.

I don't need to, there is a big community of people that do, and they are very good at it too.

If you want to scam people out of money, you could just make a fake coin like https://thebillioncoin.info/

It's a dangerous thing to be a scammer, getting caught is no joyride.

I am still waiting longer. Too much value put in, in such a short space of time and all the Americans are cashing out because of the 1 year long term capital gains rules over there and it was about a year ago when everything started this current run up.

When BTC hits $4-5k is when I start re-entering the market slowly.

Its basically educated gambling.
I got in october sold in december and made enough to buy a new bike, clear 8k of debt and move home.
Cant ask for more than that.

Also know a fair few people who lost tens of thousands by not paying attention to market trend.Like any high gain commodity you have to be checking it every 15 mins when its on the rise so you can sell as it crashes.
Way too stressful for me Embarassed those few months nearly gave me a breakdown haha.

Are you absolutely clear on where the money you "made" came from?

Are they absolutely clear on where the money they "lost" went to?

Its just market speculation, same foolishness that caused the gold boom except this time there wasnt a physical good attached to it.
I made my profit through trading, buy low sell high. Simple.

My flatmate just told me he knows a guy who put 1,000,000 yuan into Bitcoin not long ago.

It turned into 100,000 yuan Laughing

In pounds it's very roughly £100,000 --> £10,000

If the value of his coins dropped by 90% then there's more to the story than what you've been told.

Bitcoins are created and the creators sell them.
Why would there be misery involved?

People who choose to sell their coins for 90% less than they bought them for are probably pretty miserable especially when that's more than £90,000 they're out of pocket.

I'm still trying to figure out how that's even possible. Right now the price is a bit under a 1/3 of the highest it's ever been so how someone manages to turn that into a 90% loss is anyone's guess. Laughing

Maybe they diversified into shitcoins? Laughing

I put a part of my XMR into smaller coins, that has gone down 75% or so Laughing
