I'm not even sure what point you're trying to make any more.

Is there anywhere that values their goods or services in stable BTC amounts?

You are now using your own reasons I'm wrong, to be right.
They advertise in $ but only accept Bitcoin as payment.

Please stop this pointless merry go round. I offer you examples and you rubbish them with arguments you dont even agree with.

Yes, they value their stock in USD. That's my point. Nobody is thinking in terms of BTC, or running their business on an BTC basis, even people whose business is making money (real dollah money) from mining it.

Pjay wrote:

They accept three other forms of payment, including USD. You know, like the USD they value and price their stock in.

Pjay wrote:

That so far all serve to illustrate my point that even Bitcoin backers don't use Bitcoin for their stock or accounts.

Go on, have another try. I know you can't possibly be serious, but it's great fun to play along.

I've already given you the Bitdials site that advertises in BTC, you can pay only in BTC, yet you dismiss this because if you click F5 and look quick, you can see a Euro sign.

Please get checked for autism.

My bad, it's a recent change. They never used to.

As an example of a business that operates itself using BTC.

Pjay wrote:

Because they don't operate themselves using BTC.

I'm not arguing against the thing you're arguing for.

I think the funniest and perhaps saddest thing about bitcoin is the way everyone involved is thinking they've found a shortcut to becoming global hegemonic behemoths. Everyone involved is expecting the price to go up, and its adoption to become widespread, meaning they'll shoot to #1 in the global rich lists and live like Patrick Bateman happily ever after.

That's the one and only reason the vast majority of average folk would really bother with it, given that your bog standard garden variety of cash is quite fine for, well, everything already.

Quite a childish fantasy really.

If that were the case then the whole cryptocurrency thing would have crashed and burned a long time ago.

It's only those who're jump in blindly who think they've found a shortcut to becoming global hegemonic behemoths.

They're the same people who think that the price is only going to go up who I expect are the ones who signed up to some silly scheme that was advertised on Facebook or similar at the end of last year. They've bought into something which promised whatever returns which was based on the huge rise in value but they don't have any bitcoins, they've put their money in some silly investment scheme bollocks.

I would use your buddy who some how managed to lose a huge amount in a very short space of time as an example but I think I've used him as an example enough now. Laughing

Here's another article with far larger sums of fiat currency involved: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-05-09/bunkers-for-the-wealthy-are-said-to-hoard-10-billion-of-bitcoin

I expect that facility is so secure that folk will have one heck of a time getting their... dollars? bitcoins? out again. Whistle

The only thing they get back are the private key for their wallets. Laughing

There are some wallets with huge amounts of coins in them, the biggest has 1.14% of all the bitcoins: https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin-addresses.html

After being out of the game for a few months, I am easing back into some modest positions in Eth and Iota. Maybe some XMR next.

I still don't have massive confidence <12 months though.

I gambled with shitcoins instead because moon/Lambo etc.

SALT, XLM, XVG, SNGLS, QSP, SNT, OST, LIVE, couple of others I can't remember. Broke my phone and locked myself out of Binance (Google 2FA device Doh! )

So by the time I get bank in, I should be a pretend millionaire Laughing

I have been so lucky with my timings. Bought a good chunk of Iota and XMR recently.

Still not overly confident short term but the charts are proving me wrong day to day.

I finally got the private keys from my Dogecoin wallet 3 weeks ago and the price has been on a steady slide to worthlessness ever since.. Oh well.
