Thought I'd strike while the iron's hot, so to speak. Everyone at Cadwell seemed up for another track day in the near future and I'm sure a few peeps who didn't make Cadwell are dying to get out on track.

So any suggestion for where and when?Cadwell again or somewhere a bit more south?

Here's a few links that might be useful for suggesting dates -

i voted brands Razz

but i would also like to give rockingham a go Razz (ok thats not on your list....but nerr Laughing )

Rockingham
Circuit Length, National Circuit: 1.70 miles
Circuit Length, International Circuit: 2.45 miles

Rockingham is the newest circuit in the UK, and was opened in 2001. For those of you who want to practice your left-hand corners, Rockingham's International track is ideal, as it runs anticlockwise, in contrast to most other circuits in the UK. The variety of corners at Rockingham is a real treat, including blind crests, camber changes and corners with decreasing radius.
Thumbs Up

https://www.radioactiveracing.com/Images/rockingham.jpg

and part of the track is on the banked oval....cooommon flat out on the oval Twisted Evil

Available dates
July
Tuesday 20th Rockingham - National from £129.00
october
Sunday 17th Rockingham from £159.00 [/b]

To be honest an evening doesn't really appeal to me, by the time you've gone to the hassle of getting to the circuit, you might as well get as long on track as possible.

Normally it takes the morning to get used to the circuit and only in the afternoon do you start to get fast. In my opinion an evening wouldn't be a good choice for a first visit to a track. Maybe if I'd been there before then an evening would be good for working on lines a bit I guess. Confused

Cadwell: I do like and wouldn't mind doing it again; but don't think I'll gain that much from it on the rs250 as it is.

Snetterton: Would like to do it again, though not sure about on the rs.

Lydden: Wouldn't mind doing again at some point.

Mallory: Would also like to try

Brands Hatch: Expensive, would consider doing the indy again; don't really want to do an evening session, don't really like the idea.

Rockingham is known to be particularly dangerous for bikes, wouldn't mind giving it a go at some point though for the leftiness Smile.

I think I'd probably prefer something new for the next track day though.

Opinion seems to be that Castle Combe isn't great for bikes beacuse it's really bumpy.

I'd quite like to do both Oulton and Donnington, but the noise restrictions at Donnington might make it difficult for those people with race cans. G, Laura and myself shouldn't have any problems but most other people have race cans.

Cadwell again appeals, but I'd quite like to get two days in a row up there to justify the long and tedious journey. Confused

Hi

Mallory is convenient for me, and nobody seems to have done a day there. Donington is a long walk around with few decent photo spots due to the high fences.

Not sure that Rockingham do bike track days, but it is very flat and open.

All the best

Keith

Hmm, I didn't notice it being particularly bumpy...but thinking about it again - I think that most people will find that Combe isn't that great value for money in terms of track time.

Silverstone sounds good though. Thumbs Up

That's the problem; you only get chance to learn it, but not the fun bit where you're actually pushing it a bit more.

I tend to find the morning sessions I'm still getting used to the tracks, while (hopefully) it all 'clicks' in the evening session and I start to have real fun.

If I had done more than one slow session before I would be tempted... also relatively I think it's worse value for money, considering the track time you get.
